Running (bog) 47:35 [4] 6.84 km (6:57 / km)
shoes: VJ Integrator

First Varrassuo training of this season. Boy was it fun!! It was windy, rainy and very wet but I guess that was the reason it was so jolly.
Three laps
1. 15'09
2. 15'46
3. 16'40
On the last lap I got stuck couple of times pretty badly. In those places there was water up to my waist.
For this season's bog opening I had put only the worthy songs to my mp3. It all started with Godsmack - Sick of life (merely cause of the intro) and the playlist ended with FF - The Pretender and Everlong which are considered mental doping by WADA. I had to skip couple of songs cause I was actually faster than I thought.

Running warm up/down 25:00 [2] 4.0 km (6:15 / km)
shoes: VJ Integrator

Warm up straight to the bog but warm down a bit longer route.

Running 1:25:00 [3] 15.0 km (5:40 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel DS Trainer IX

First pure running training for a while. Went well. Tomorrow I'll start to look into that lack of strenght I noticed in test run.

Floorball 50:00 [3]
shoes: Adidas Stabil

Workplace's floorball session at Energiahalli.

I also cycled around 40km today but the weather was nice and had some marvellous music in my mp3 that it can't be counted as training. Though cycling home from FC Lahti game some "real" cyclist flew past me in Kärpäsenmäki climb and just like always I couldn't let that happen. I put myself to Richard Virenque-mode and started the pursuit. At the top I almost reached him, he must've heard me and put his Erik Zabel-mode on. I tried to switch to Mario Cipollini but my thighs just didn't expand to speedskater measures. I sort of stayed at attacking distance 'til Saarikunnas but then tête de la course put the last nail to the coffin. My legs had never experienced such lactate.
Oh, and with that little sprint I also noticed that the cold has turned to plain old pollen allergy. Whopee!

Running warm up/down 30:00 [2] 4.0 km (7:30 / km)
(sick) shoes: VJ Integrator

Warm up
Tapanila-test run start place-one lap with Emma Hyyppä (D14) leading and making 30m gap to H21 guys...

Running race 27:08 [4] 5.18 km (5:14 / km) +75m 4:53 / km
(sick) shoes: VJ Integrator

XC-test run
A week ago I thought to myself that I could try a time between 26 and 26'30. But then some tiny little germs crawled into my blood stream and took all the energy out of me. Yesterday the goal was under 30', so after all I'm actually quite pleased about the time. Over half a minute away from last year's record time. Although I have a feeling that somehow that route was faster than last year...
Running felt just like expected. My throat wanted me to stop after two laps but I kept on going. Lungs were really sore after the run.
I noticed that either it's the disease or then I really lack some strength in my legs. In every ditch crossing and other obstacle my speed reduced to almost null. I just couldn't push over it.

Orienteering warm up/down 20:00 [1] *** 2.0 km (10:00 / km)
(sick) shoes: VJ Integrator

Map training back to Tapanila where there was an "aisle" in the map that we had to stay on. I've lived next to this terrain for 20 years so it wasn't much of a challenge.

Note
(sick) (rest day)

No fever yesterday so getting better. Climbing stairs one floor is still enough of a chalenge so some rapid improvement needed if I wanna beat my last year's xc-test run times tomorrow.
