Yökuppi 2013 Finale. Rogaining at Tapanila.
It's nice when runnig feels quite good. Though had to walk at Messilä. And it fepretty much better the further the race went. So promises good for season's highlight K18-suunnistus in 1½ week.
Way too many mistakes for a map that I've lived right next to for 20 years.

Thought there would be training at Salppuri school but guess it's autumn holiday. So own strength training.
Left big toe hurt so bad after last control in Yökuppi that even some walking steps are bad. Same toe's been a problen quite a few times. Guess there's something wrong with it.

Yökuppi 11, Poutunkangas, Tuulos.
Surprise surprise I had bit of a hurry to the start line. Did a 10s standing warm up and then off we went.
Wrong forking to #1 - 1min
Very hesitant navigating 2-5. No real mistakes though.
At #6 saw Tuxi going too much left so as a Common Golden Eye to the control.
Then running to #7 I saw 10-15 guys running towards me 100m before the control, rolled the map and plan was to catch them to #8. Almost did.
Got carried away with good legs so again wrong forking to #9. Though I was on the map 20s before it. Alone with Turskis and the big train was long gone. Jogging to finish.

Looking at 25manna 5th leg times I still don't get how I was that slow... Looks like A and D gafflings were the fastest ones (in top50 A-21, B-9, C-4, D-16) but it still won't explain how I lost 8min to Assu in there and about a minute to public control in Halikko.

Halikko-viesti, Vaskio. LS-37 3, 15th leg.
Like quite a many times now in a row, Halikko went well. Best competition of the season.
Had only two problems (from the same origin):
1) When I started to change o-gear on, the announcer said "1 and ½ min to the start". Still didn't have shoes, trousers, socks, nor number bib on. Luckily I was sort of saved by the bell, or lack of it, since they post-poned the start with 5min.
2) just before the annoucement, had decided to visit the border of the field and forest (obviously didn't have time). During the run I was actually thinking that a mistake would be in place so I could "stop" to look at the map. Unfortunately made only like 15-30s of mistakes.
3rd best 3rd team, not bad.

Went pretty well. Small mistake to #2 and then wrong direction on #7. Most likely won Minna for the 1st time in my life (31. and 43. + this)
T-shirt might've been under dressing (even -3°C). Though after #3 I could put the thumb compass into thumb.

Went quite well. Few mistakes (biggest to #2 and #7) but I'd say I'm happy with the navigating as well.
But if it really took 46min for me and almost everyone I asked went about 40min, it couldn't be good performance. Hopefully splits would be up before christmas.

Yökuppi 9 by my brother.
I was expecting it to be hard in that terrain and knowing my bro's history with not-so-easy-night-os. And I got it.
#1 went apparently well if you compare it to average A-course guy. Though maybe 2min mistake there. Then next - a bit bigger - one to #3. For #6 I got 4/5 in bingo. Then still one major one to #8.

Jagge, how is it possible to widen the legmap-view? I was able to widen the frame the map is in but not the map itself. It's just that in route choices are mostly left out.

JEC open race mass start.
Weather was quite bad. Thick fog, rain and wind. But still in the forest it didn't bother.
Quite good race considering what the week's been like. Could even get the HR highest in few days. One mistake to #7. I was on the map still in the cp circle but somehow got myself too high. Maybe 1min there.

JEC open race. The same curse as H20 boys but ~150m less to the triangle.
It was a long distance and boy was it long for me. Mostly cause of the ascent.
No big mistakes and I even was faster to one difficult control (#11) than PVA or All-in ;)
Greens were really green but white was better than Tapanila's perhelenkki.

Axpo sprint relay in Baden.
Last leg and the boys gave it to me in the lead but with slow speed and one really big mistake I dropped us to 2nd place. It would've been nice sprint to the finish without the mistake (2.7-3.2km) in the end.

Training camp relay champs. My team mates gave me good position to leave to the last leg but Aleksi and Philipp were too close. Rather big "mistake" to #1 which was in the wrong place. After that lost sort of interest.
Tried real hard especially in the beginning but couldn't get HR up.. Guess I'm already quite tired.
