Walking 1:09:34 [2] 0.68 mi (1:42:20 / mi) +36m 1:27:53 / mi

We met for a BOS photo at the Knox Rd kiosk at 10a, then for two work parties to clear up last Saturday/Sunday trail damage. I went off by myself not being up to walking as much as the others. Looked at Crescent Tr which was actually in fine shape - no trees down or hemlocks etc bent and frozen to the ground. I hadn’t been the length of this short access trail in years - it was different from what I remembered when making the Nottingcook map. Back then, Crescent La didn’t exist. Now Crescent's perhaps Bow's most uppity dead end.

Walking 20:00 [1]

Short walk with W before dark. Since, without dog car, she's been introduced to all the possibilities (namely scents) out back and has become problematic - longer, more frequent disappearances. ...And crossed the stream as initial no-no. I hid behind a tree but my disappearance wasn't foremost in her mind. Walk curtailed. Not much otherwise, solstice on the horizon...

Walking 47:47 [1] 1.54 mi (31:03 / mi) +59m 27:44 / mi

To Elm Brook with Beth, W left home w/o transport. Needed a better mental health walk than just out back. Start about 4:10. Had out-back walk in mind from start, didn’t want top of dike. Nearing halfway, considered climbing to dike, thought better of it, turned around, back at car at 4:35, dark about 4:45. Passed father-daughter with 8m/o golden and a friendly lady runner passed us. Warm day for a change.

Walking 20:34 [1] 0.27 mi (1:16:05 / mi) +25m 59:06 / mi

Got home, took W for a loop, wanted to get quarter mile in. More & more thought given to having a reliable spare set of batteries given the tripping & hesitation easily avoided with preparation. Our house has the least amount of lights to see, esp on east side.

Walking 40:00 [1]

Pretty much a mirror image of yesterday, limited without the station wagon
to take W to 'interesting venues'.

PT exercise 25:00 [1]

My last PT session, one might like to think forever. Sad in a way but I was ready to 'graduate'. A very nice group of people. Brigitte gave me a Foothills T-shirt. I pointed out that skate skiing on level ground would be a reasonable next step & would come up with a very short video when I could.

Walking 40:00 [1]

Two walks out back with W, same as yesterday. Second after dark - carried 2 spare batteries with consideration of putting them in in the dark as led lights quite suddenly; happened once, a backup plan is of necessity. Had 20 plus turkeys out back for the only action around.

Walking 45:00 [1]

Two W walks out back - car off at shop so dog walks are limited. Icy, just dark at time of second with W driving a few deer away.

Walking 40:00 [3]

Woods walk off Stoneybrook. White world, northeaster yesterday. Left the path - easy to lose sense of direction except for the fact I was leaving a track behind.
