Walking (Nordic walking) 56:19 [1] 1.37 mi (41:06 / mi) +39m 37:46 / mi

With W, overcast, cool, wet woods fm rain. Met a lady at trail head new to the place. She was waiting for her friend. Asked me a few ?'s. Saw them at the top - she had a forest excursion route to take on her I phone. As I was finishing, I heard two women talking, coming closer - the same two. They had followed the trail in the wrong direction, heading back to parking. Hope I set them straight.

Kayaking 59:00 [1] 1.7 mi (34:42 / mi) +2m 34:35 / mi

At Hopkinton reservoir with Beth. First time kayaking there. When we turned around, we had no idea of what was ahead. Next time we'll have a mission. Pleased that we used the brush dump trailer to get the kayak to the water's edge. No more putting it atop the car.

Nottingcook with Beth & Willow. Farewell August to the merry-go-round:

12 months
January is bright and white,
February lingers but ends with longer light.
March, tis said, roars in, but by end is largely dead.
April lifts her skirts and too soon runs away.
Along comes May but she won’t stay.
Soon there’ll be June but who knows her tune.
July can’t be a lie, just look around.
August indeed is august in the aging year.
Of September, many songs feature “remember”.
Of October, the year in flame is her game.
Dark November is always sad to remember.
And December, at year’s depth, is beyond remember.
