Walking 23:00 [1] 0.48 mi (47:57 / mi) +14m 43:58 / mi

Kimball Pond with B&W. Took Willow for a walk, Beth read. Brisk westerly, fine evening. Guessed I'd walked about a quarter mile, was pretty close, starting gps at turn around point..

Earlier mowed our small lawn for another form of exercise. Two weeks ago, I wondered if I could get the mower started for lack of pull power & for its age. It has started within the first few pulls every year for the past 10 and was a hand-me-down then.

Had balance exercise when we rewound about 600' of dog fence wire in woods, up & down, land mines etc. Beth went straight down, tripping on a nubbin of old tree. An exercise as such renders a 'regular' woods path easy.

Walking 43:06 [1] 1.3 mi (33:09 / mi) +16m 31:56 / mi

With Beth and Willow, finished as rain became steady. Noted 2 PD cars on entering, one was K9. Walking back saw two police cars driving on road we were going to walk on in a few minutes. Got to our car - there were 3 PD cars, two only feet away from ours and third about 30' (2 were K9). Also a sand sifting project adjacent with heavy machinery/noise. We parked where we did for not best of reasons. No officers in cars around ours. Leaving, there were 2 more PD K9 cars at the powerline. Stopped to inquire. K9 training day. 2 state, 2 Bow, one Auburn. Nice to know it was only that.

Walking 49:55 [1] 1.2 mi (41:36 / mi) +14m 40:09 / mi

At Elm Brook Park with Willow. Splendid visit - it doesn't get greener and bluer than today. No humidity, NW breeze. Acres and acres of lawn which wasn't optimal with 3 industrial-grade mowers for background. The park is closed for the season but was sprinkled with 'foot soldiers' enjoying the moment.

Single cane 49:53 [1] 1.14 mi (43:45 / mi) +45m 38:58 / mi

Great Hill around 5:45 w/ W. Felt good, used cane for rocks & roots part of walk. Breezy on top, excellent views. Met 1 couple and a family of 4, the latter in particular thrilling W. Twice today, a muddy dog, the second time, needing cleaning, in a trail side marsh before getting back to car. Should have anticipated. 2nd Gt. Hill walk post-op.

Bone secured
