Walking 1:27:50 [1] 2.56 mi (34:19 / mi) +131m 29:36 / mi

Bear Brook around midday with Willow. Sunny and dry after a heavy rain last night. Did part of an UNO meet course that started 20' up Podunk Rd. from Hayes Field. Went to maybe half of them - 70' in the woods was enough. Willow did fine on her first O-type, longish walk. Sl. stiff back, nothing more. Running or jogging feels foreign however.

A helicopter flew up the length of Hayes Field just above the tree tops and returned but no idea what it was about, SAR possibly - or practice. Last time here, July 11, I was drummed out of the woods by a hard rain around 5:45pm.

Note

Finally made an effort to find out where the murdered Bear Brook woman and three children are buried - right off Rte. 28 on River Rd in Allenstown at St. John the Baptist cemetery.. Drove by, took a brief look at the many headstones , decided I'd come back with a work colleague who was as taken as I with the BB podcast. And also located the old (snowmobile in part) trail where the barrels were dropped in '85 and '00 - still there opposite Garden La. but obviously much changed. Saved for another day when I can also introduce Doug to orienteering at BB.

Walking 41:00 [1] 1.2 mi (34:10 / mi) +91m 27:39 / mi

To Great Hill 'summit' & back with Beth and Willow. The latter repeatedly demonstrates an affinity for apparently tasty dirt.

In spite of the allure, I have a hard time getting over the driving requirement to the corn maze event. Doubt last moment rumination could prevail.

Note

Beth and I had a fun dinner visit with Hans and Lena Bengtsson in Camden over the weekend. Vibrant couple, busy garden and Camden, a lovely town.

Working on enthusiasm for some O this fall as in 'just do it no matter the outcome'. PT and physiatry appointments made today.
