At Walden: Drove to Littleton with Beth for consignment shop stuff. Without any snow/ice, the MA day reminded me of being in early March. Then to Walden for a walk around. It was covered with black ice, haven’t seen that in many years. The woods were bare and brown. Inviting for orienteering. Walked some on the ice inspired by others being “all over the place”. Apparent full thickness cracks appeared to be 2-3” thick. Could see bottom in depths well over my head.
Lunch in Concord, back thru Carlisle, stopping briefly at Great Brook.
Local traffic in Concord seems “self-defeating”, particularly departing @ rush hour just north of Concord center - 1/2 mi queue at 4 way stop of Barrett’s Mill and Barnes Hill, 100 m from where I rented in early 80s.
