Nottingcook O walk. Got a ride from Beth to Great Hill parking. Made my way back more or less straight after first part. Some really lovely places as well as some gnarly areas. Nottingcook might be said to be like “the girl next door” which is quite incorrect. Both are (or were) nice. Credit where credit’s due. Stopped by a trim-O marker: still there, virtually never used - except for fellows such as
this.
Then, at a path intersection, a
control flag hanging on a pine bough.... That was disorienting but it fell in place - from the May OLLI course & somehow escaped me. Finally, crossed the power line wondering if I wanted to go back in the woods vs the easy way on the road. Plowed back in and was rewarded with fairly open space between trees and large swaths of ferns, being wet terrain. Stayed along interesting contours then N thru the ferns, then neighbor’s house, found a small bridge & done.
