1st kayak, on Touree, with Beth. So quiet on the evening water. More thought to sitting & observing/listening - or reading - than to paddling. Felt badly at having to upend an ant colony...running all manner of direction with eggs or larvae in mobilizing the kayak.

BHS track, gray, cool, quite pleasant considering what it would be with regular sun. Took it easy - 5/31, just back from vacation, I brought on "hamstring awareness" w/ this w/o within two days suggesting I was working too hard. Also, admit to not stretching beforehand on a regular basis.

Kimball Pond, on early side, cool/shady. Still plenty of mosquitoes near ponds/bogs. Saw what must have been a coyote but with short hair & tail -- and also a mother turkey with 10+ tiny chicks crossing KPR. At the right-turn jct, I went straight, wondering where I'd come out on KPR. Now I know & it was not at all visible from the road.
My college 50th reunion in an environment of many running-walking possibilities but if one had the time. We were there to celebrate the past & present with classmates with little time to visit old favorite running places. In departing, we drove to the summit of Greylock but didn't have time for old friend Broad Brook. I recalled running to the Greylock summit Thanksgiving '93 as we drove on & on toward it today.
T'was all the past in the rear view mirror. And quite fond at that. And a visit to Broad Brook and the new Cascades Tr. to look forward to.
