UNO Boulder Dash at Burnt Mt. Did Brown X - would give myself about a C/C- with close to 20’ mistakes plus the expected lame leg slowness. Botched #4 on the left trail route missing a connection and, climbing then descending and not stopping to say “hmm”. Eventually saw a sign on a tree that said something like “Crossing Tr” with arrows at ea end. So then noted it might be a T-jct which indeed it was and I was able to find easily enough. Knew what to do from there but a 7 contour line climb about did me in. Also blew #6 & #9, no excuses, just details. Slow all along. George Walker was 82” on the finish section, I was 127”. Can’t make it happen in spite of running on the track.
O dinner at a Dartmouth Dining Hall - as much variety in food as variety in the hundreds of students there. A very quiet night at Storrs Pond. Camped with Hans as next door neighbor. He’d left his tent poles home & we (Mary Jo, too) spent quite a bit of time
setting up his tent with the “poles” he harvested from the woods with my Swiss Army knife.
Voila!
