Note

DP with M early enough, then most of the day working on Rhodora. Hours of NHPR passes by in such a context. A Terry Gross interview with a most talented woman, Rhiannon Giddens, caught my attention. White father, black mother, she sang with banjo slavery songs and opera in German. And a violinist and guitarist as well.

Walking 1:36:26 [1] 2.57 mi (37:27 / mi) +96m 33:34 / mi

Nottingcook walk with Beth in prep for Tuesday's OLLI walk. Cloudy, grey, lo 50s. We skipped Great Hill and bailed out early to Woodhill-Hooksett Rd at the end. Had we not, it would have been about 3.3mi. Spring green birches, peepers at the bog, 3 MTBers. Mostly of it was new to Beth. 5.4 mi around for car ferrying, WH off BBR to end was 1 mi even. First Nottingook visit of any substance in quite a few months. Actually a treasure in the backyard.

Note

Worked my tail off on the boat, having had the day off. No credit due for that though. Later, I "attacked" all the fallen limbs I had an appetite for as well as raking away some longstanding leaf piles. Didn't go anywhere other than the PL for a mid-morn DP.

Dog days (two 'fortuitous' photos, past 24h) ...

Yesterday at DD, "you've kept me waiting - where's my double Angus steak & cheese"?
