BHS track, sun initially on most of track so it was quite hot. Visor cap & singlet are essential for August track visits! Some laps & meandering. Right leg fatigue comes too easy. Left achilles is indeed sore these days (throbs at times) - have been too lazy about heel lifts & have used running shoes w/o the greatest of arch support. Need to pay attention/address it.
Had two O-Ringen maps along - fun to revisit. Far away, seems long ago.
BHS track, soft summer eve. Walk and jog, some 200s around 54/57 - not much. Had a map of Refuge Valley, Carberry, Manitoba, August 18, 1982, 34 years old today. I'd meant to bring the current O-Ringen maps but forgot.
I could see a good sunset in the making, so I made my way to the boat ramp.
BES, closest track to home as sister Beth's friend Mark came for dinner leaving me short for time. I couldn't recall Mark's connection to Beth. Mark, knowing it would be to my very great surprise, took a wallet-sized photo from his shirt pocket - a b&w mother & child photo. On the back in mother's handwriting "Fran & Robin, May 5, 1947". I recognized Mom but 14 month-olds look pretty much alike. Turns out Mark & my mother were best of friends. Mark, now 73, found the photo in his family memorabilia.
200m at 3 level brings me to a halt. Recent track visits have helped pinpoint an endpoint to current jog capacity.
