Trail/woods running 1:10:57 intensity: (55:57 @1) + (15:00 @2) 2.74 mi (25:54 / mi) +104m 23:10 / mi

Putney Pond visit. Bright, chill - perfect April day. Did not find pond at first, finally a trail & then revisited interconnecting fields. Reminded myself of end of Hunter Dr. & the peculiar lot that seems to have had some prior unique history - tennis court remnant and stone pillars at drive entrance but no big house.

Odd how this visit repeated last time without my really recalling what was coming ahead.

Used the old 305 which proved a surprise. Took it from the drawer to remove the bottom to begin process of getting a new battery, and maybe having a second watch. Watch popped on - took a look at battery charge which said about full although it had sat in a drawer for months (& was replaced best I can recall for a weak/old battery). It lasted the visit to Putney. At home, it was very hard to get it to parse, only w/ Safari (but that was not a surprise) but it froze Safari first about 3 times, refused to parse. finally i tried a different charging cradle & it worked. Had 310 on the other wrist & 305 was slower to catch sats & so a bit less on distance.

Walk-jog 1:35:00 intensity: (35:00 @1) + (1:00:00 @2) 6.0 mi (15:50 / mi)

From house to/up OJR to an SVT but not to the power line intersection. Finally got to the PL, dodging wet areas/swamps and finally, finally to Dicandra Dr., then across to WH and home thru the woods.

Misplaced or lost the ANT stick for time being so g-maps approximation it is. Chilly/breezy but fine in woods. 310Xt had this wander for 6.00mi so this is a good reproduction.

Encountered this encampment today. Looked like a one day stand, reachable by 4 WD. Also this solar light on a tree opposite. I need to return for some scavenging/recycling. How stupid, simple, wasteful people can be.

Cardio 35:00 [3]

At Y after work, hard rain but not cold but didn't care to run in it. I saw plenty of youngsters out & about, including a Concord girls' XC team, some in shorts, none with head cover, running thru town.

Finally got plane tickets for Sweden via the UK and Oslo. Tickets add concrete to plans.

Weightexercise workout 35:00 [1]

Y after running did not pan out. Something off radar zapped energy.
Two sub-10 deg days behind, rain ahead. From blue to gray today
which added some appeal to being inside. But got the last burn piled done.

Note

Rest day - work plus BOS mtg plus mostly poor sleep. AM was too hurried & so sampled the BHS fields for skate on the way home but by 2:30, it was too late even in what passed for shade. Surprised to see that the track was completely clear of snow by then, with the T not getting much above 30F. Bright blue & windy fun anyway.

Bog loop, up Allen, left on WH & back thru Nottingcook. Snowing pretty hard, maybe 3" on the ground. Wintry day, don't think the temp got to hi 20s.

Trail/road 32:25 intensity: (4:00 @1) + (28:25 @2) 2.14 mi (15:09 / mi) +78m 13:36 / mi

Had a visit from Peter & grandkids. Beth, Mocha, myself and the youngsters traced the brook over to the brush dump road as part of entertainment. Dylan needed a coat, hat and scarf - left his warm stuff home for whatever reason. Glad to see them & relieved to see them go, such is the “inquisition” and nonstop display of energy & curiosity.

After made my own "adventure" on a local route, emerging at end of Arnold. Managed a genuine faceplant on a root - had gloves on which saved the palms. Face just about "supplicated" the Earth. The day, which began with snow-laced branches and white ground, was notable for the wind & chill. Tough on the plants trying out April.

Adventure is everywhere
