Walking 36:14 [1] 1.37 mi (26:27 / mi) +32m 24:39 / mi

Ashore for a walk to Ft. Victoria and surrounding fields. Met St. Georges's recent past major by the wayside. Expect to depart tomorrow.

Ruins are scattered about town and "country" - but not much of the latter. Bermuda "bedrock" is limestone, a coral reef layer on top of an ancient volcanic seamount.

Walking 1:15:00 [1] 3.0 mi (25:00 / mi)

More walking - from where the bus dropped us off over to Royal Hamilton
Amateur Dinghy Club and then into downtown Hamilton. Met Mox of all people at the Ferry terminal. He had two fairly large bags of dirty clothes tied to the handlebars of his bike and was going to ride back to St. George with them. We offered to carry them back on the bus so he could have an unfettered ride home.

Three days in a row we've gone to the CV Cafe in St. George for ice cream and then taken a nap in the back room in big, soft, obviously comfortable, chairs.

Road/trail 43:17 [1] 2.03 mi (21:22 / mi) +28m 20:30 / mi

Walk to the boatyard to visit with Mox, character supreme.

We got back aboard a scooter coming up with a technique for Beth to get on & off. Some rails to trails walking and a visit to Flatts and the Bermuda aquarium. Seems we've added two days to departure due to weather coming off US coast.

Walking 1:00:00 [1] 3.0 mi (20:00 / mi)

Went to the hill above St. George to visit Bermuda radio & then along St. George's smaller roads.

One way to get around. I like scooters, Beth does not. No car rentals on the island. Buses go most everywhere but a scooter is adventurous.

Road/trail 1:04:01 [1] 3.13 mi (20:27 / mi) +65m 19:13 / mi

To Tobacco bay for a dip and continued around to town by the shore road.
Then we took a bus to St. David's, visited the light house and actually saw a Marion-Bermuda finisher (USNA boat).

Walking 50:00 [1] 2.0 mi (25:00 / mi)

Over the hill to Ft. St. Katherine and Achilles and Tobacco bays for a swim.
Poked around remnants of an old fort in the vegetation.

Road/trail 59:20 [1] 3.01 mi (19:42 / mi) +58m 18:35 / mi

From Town Square around 0603, taking things in w/o jogging. Passed thru a church yard with graves of oldest black slave etc inhabitants. Came upon an open area, a hardtop footpath and then the fairway of a golf course. That got me near Ft. St. George which now houses Bermuda Weather Service and Radio. Then down to water’s edge and over to the boat yard to see if I could find Mox. Met him Saturday am…yacht delivery, bon vivant, free spirit person, still with a home in MI. He was there - we visited for maybe 30’ aboard. I needed to get back. I questioned him on the time on his watch (7:03). He was pretty sure that was the time but his cell told him it was 8:03 as I suspected (had only 305). He’d planned to be a Navy Dockyard by bike some 20 mi away at 10am for a meeting! Intriguing/amusing that he’d still have east coast time on his watch since at least Saturday am.

Walking 1:30:00 [1] 3.0 mi (30:00 / mi)

Walked til we nearly dropped under the searing sun at the old Naval Dockyard. Coined the terms "latitude lassitude" or "tropical torpor" for the affliction. Either way, not sure I can break into a trot anytime soon. 0600 is the best shot.
