Road running 46:00 [2] 4.0 mi (11:30 / mi) +100m 10:40 / mi

BHS-BMS loop twice around 4p. Start cold and then it becomes pleasantly bracing. Rose clouds just covering Kearsage summit. Saw old moose prints in the snow which was surprising.

Some skate sampling on the CHS track infield about mid-morning. Better than yesterday pm, not good enough though.

Skate skiing 19:52 [2] 1.08 mi (18:24 / mi) +5m 18:08 / mi

SPS skate after work, try the crust (with a new 1" layer of snow over the night) which was too soft - got too warm today. Involved skiing on grass in a few places. Point of the visit was to find out. Needed an am visit but couldn't make it then. Sky dried out anyway.

Road running 25:00 [2] 2.0 mi (12:30 / mi)

Token jog from White Park parking in Concord. Still raining and/or wet snow...
the "void" of 2014.

Weightexercise workout 40:00 [1]

40' at Y. Two days of icy rain or just wet, cold rain.

Got 27 points at the Dover Raid. Could have easily picked up 3 more surrounding the city street map. It was all in the planning, ie, map shuffling. I had enthusiasm/energy for some/all? of the aerial points but did not factor that in route choice until too late. It needed tending to right after 35, heading south from there. A partner of equal/ability/energy seems beneficial.

Note

Drive to Cambridge for car coding session as well as visit in general. It was 33F at 0930 & saw quite a few runners, and even in skimpy running shorts. Turned out there was a race just around the block. Warmed up to say 38F by early PM and there were so many people running along the Charles…more shorts, one T shirt, lots of bare hands & heads. And not a speck of white on the ground. Took a walk on the MIT campus, visiting Student Union and Sports centers Just missed a swimming meet. Walked through the 77 Mass Ave Main Building and onto Killian Court, a memory for me back to early fall ’71 when I ran to some prof’s office to see if I could enroll in a chem lab course w/ dwindling space. As a mere visitor today, I did not encounter barriers to entrance as I might expect nowadays. Didn’t try the library, usually on my “campus visit” lists. Walked right thru the ground floor Dept of Mechanical Engineering to regain the lobby of Main Building, warming up in the process. Then home to an icy driveway.
