Road/trail 50:00 [2] 4.9 mi (10:12 / mi)
shoes: NB 993

SPS ramble, warm but breezy, dry. No fdf's in preppy SPS woods. Stopped by Bassi's but no answer to cowbell. Thru construction & then XC course, wishing I was running the splits like the 'old' days instead like just plain old. Had gallon of water in trunk & some for washing off salt was just the right thing - cooler quicker.

Trail/woods running 22:00 [2] 2.2 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: NB 993

PM DP, wanted to get out & remind myself why we tend to stay out of NE summer woods*. FDF's ran right over, greeting me in large numbers. Toured the Bower loop, dogs finding every mud-hole they could (& this outing was their idea). We emerged in sunlight, Zoe breathing like a hot panther, Mocha snapping at her tormentors. Still, what would we do without such opportunities:-).

*also to loosen up after sailing (a lot of sitting in general) as well as bus & train today.

Road/trail 1:45:00 [1] 3.0 mi (35:00 / mi)

Walk on Metinic Island (wsw part of chart) with Beth...sheep, gulls, nesting terns mostly. Privately owned by the Post family for a long, long time. Baaing of sheep was so Hebridean/Scottish but no bracken. Had considered a run but was tired & it would have been a bit antisocial as well.

Like ducks in a row

Pecking order

Note

Friday/Saturday boat launch, could have run early Friday am but it seemed more another thing to do rather than something I wanted to do. Left Kittery at 2115 - a fovorable wind swathed in moonlight was not to be a lost opportunity no matter how tired.

Road/trail 45:38 [2] 4.4 mi (10:22 / mi)
shoes: NB 993

Drove to SPS, rain clouds on the march. SPS XC once, (18:48, 2.1) but not a second time - was stiffling w/o any air moving. 5' walk & then 20' along
Silk Farm to long field where there was breeze, by telescopes & bk on SF
just as rain arrived, mid-80s.

incl 7' walk/jog.

Today is boat-out-of the-drive day which makes for more/different options
at home - visit Bear Brook & try out the new map one of these days.
It's a bit like prom or graduation day - come home, empty nest (big navigable space) after nearly 8 months, welcome change.

For the sea

Road running 56:06 [2] 5.55 mi (10:06 / mi)
shoes: New Balance 1011

SloGo with Diane, Luti w/ SPS construction detour. Painful on Clinton when sun was out from behind clouds - needed a headband. Haven't run with the Princess much in the past 2 months - schedule changes mostly.

Walking 13:00 [1] 0.4 mi (32:29 / mi)

PM DP to get away from driveway chores, eg, boat departure.
