Note

Friday/Saturday boat launch, could have run early Friday am but it seemed more another thing to do rather than something I wanted to do. Left Kittery at 2115 - a fovorable wind swathed in moonlight was not to be a lost opportunity no matter how tired.

Thursday Jun 24, 2010 #

Road/trail 45:38 [2] 4.4 mi (10:22 / mi)
shoes: NB 993

Drove to SPS, rain clouds on the march. SPS XC once, (18:48, 2.1) but not a second time - was stiffling w/o any air moving. 5' walk & then 20' along
Silk Farm to long field where there was breeze, by telescopes & bk on SF
just as rain arrived, mid-80s.

incl 7' walk/jog.

Today is boat-out-of the-drive day which makes for more/different options
at home - visit Bear Brook & try out the new map one of these days.
It's a bit like prom or graduation day - come home, empty nest (big navigable space) after nearly 8 months, welcome change.

Road running 56:06 [2] 5.55 mi (10:06 / mi)
shoes: New Balance 1011

SloGo with Diane, Luti w/ SPS construction detour. Painful on Clinton when sun was out from behind clouds - needed a headband. Haven't run with the Princess much in the past 2 months - schedule changes mostly.

Walking 13:00 [1] 0.4 mi (32:29 / mi)

PM DP to get away from driveway chores, eg, boat departure.

Tuesday Jun 22, 2010 #

Road/trail 43:41 [3] 4.5 mi (9:42 / mi)
shoes: New Balance 1011

Water Tower loop, CW, hot/harsh on Clinton & Langley - longish climb to WT
from Clinton, maybe 75m over 1 mile. Stopped & asked 3 women if they knew of the Langley extension proposal to 'destroy' the through-the-woods SVT we were walking on.* No negative feedback from leg, maybe a 3 effort, bit more than past month. No DP today - assigned to Beth. Removed boat cover & frame instead.

*and no idea my week-old submission would appear today : Monitor LTEs (not my header but might as well be)

Walking 28:00 [1] 0.8 mi (35:01 / mi)

AM DP down to the slough, hot already in the sun, summer 's here.

The solstice is as good a day as any for play

Trail/woods running 30:00 [2] 3.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: New Balance 1011

PM DP, didn't get out at lunch as expected, retirement party. So lucky dogs.
Bog Meadow loop, didn't see anything of note.

Sunday Jun 20, 2010 #

Walking 15:00 [1] 0.4 mi (37:29 / mi)

AM DP @ BMS on way to NHH - a lot more civilized than out back.

Walking 20:00 [1] 0.7 mi (28:34 / mi)

PM DP, Nottingcook. Came upon a patch of wild roses - almost startling in their red 'spots' of color amidst virtually all green. And such a civilized fragrance permeating the fdf-occupied air. Actually FDF's not so bad, maybe time of day, bit breezy, dry. Zoe went on a walkabout - was prepared to let her make her own way home - she reappeared just in time.

Went over to S. Eliot for boat work. Bob Gillmore came by late pm with what has to be 1000 pachysandra plants - will keep Beth happy/occupied.

Hamstring was throbbing this am, not a pain (1/10) but a presence & reminder not to get too enthusiastic.
