Road running 35:31 [3] 4.37 mi (8:08 / mi)
shoes: Loco training

Run fm North Ferry dock to South ferry on Shelter Island. Imperial green day, manicured this & that, views of water, can sense the money fm the other end of the island. Kept in sight of some 25 overweight kids on bikes also headed to the ferry. Some may have found that a bit disquieting.
Shelter Island

Road running 13:00 [3] 1.6 mi (8:07 / mi)
shoes: Loco training

Got out of car & ran rest of way to Longbeach La by beach in Noyac.

Road running 43:37 [2] 4.0 mi (10:54 / mi)
shoes: Loco training

Noon get-together w/ Diane fm Garry's p dropping off Saab. Tired legs as well as an achy area Rt outside calf - a bit of protest from yesterday's pounding.

Road running 56:23 [4] 6.9 mi (8:10 / mi) +130m 7:43 / mi
shoes: Loco training

Home fm NHH. Slept just fine after a tyl pm last night. Decent energy, no yawning. Never tired/oob, just didn't want to run any faster. around 70F, felt warm in sun but plenty of shade.

Waning days of 'the green machine' ('92) sans current registration as well as inspection sticker; dogs will miss it, so will I...

Track 5:24 [3] 1.2 km (4:30 / km)
shoes: Loco training

SPS warmup, 3 by 400.

Track 13:39 [4] 3.2 km (4:16 / km)
shoes: Loco training

Noon at St. Paul's. Poor night's sleep...0151, looked at watch, 0218
stopped playig possum & read for 45', back to possum until first light,
then maybe some sordid brief dreaming. Whimpy attitude punctuated by yawning but went to track for 2 metric miles & pleased myself: 6:50, 6:44. Saw Peter Romanello. NIce June day.

Trail/woods running 29:00 [3] 3.1 mi (9:21 / mi)
shoes: Loco training

After some boat work, around 6:30, mellow hour. Needed a few more miles beyond some 4.4k fm noon. Around the bog.

Road running 40:37 [2] 3.9 mi (10:25 / mi)
shoes: Loco training

Perfect June noon 'round the block with Diane. Legs felt good, even recovered.

Trail/woods running 9:30 [3] 1.2 mi (7:55 / mi)
shoes: Loco training

Went to BHS with idea of 2 sub-7 (nothing like track for honesty) metric miles but too much lacrosse activity so came home w/ Nottingcook loop in mind instead. Picked up 2 happy dogs. At least did not have to deal with sun & blk surface...shady woods instead.
One warmup, one moderately ernest. Needed to get home to work on boat, dogs kaput as well. Need to HTFU them dogs.

Trail/woods running 8:15 [4] 1.15 mi (7:10 / mi)
shoes: Loco training

Second. Ran by some guys shooting bullets into dirt....Went to OCAD for dist.

Trail/woods running 41:27 [2] 3.1 mi (13:22 / mi)
shoes: Loco training

Noon SloGo on my own. Little Pond Rd, new area to poke around, nr quarries. Some phone line cart tracks bordered by granite 'gardens' fm quarrying. One nice view fm air traffic instrumentation. Legs flat as would be expected.

Summer arrival; early sun in Allegheny, 6/08...

Running race 1:36:57 [3] 10.0 mi (9:42 / mi)
shoes: Loco training

Pack Monadnock 10 mile RR, Wilton to top of PM Mt, 2000' vertical over the distance. Perfect weather: 60's, minimal sun. First non5k RR in yrs. Can't remember when I last ran 10mi, race or not. Diane, Brian, Sin & Laurie there. Guess I could call it fun...nothing hurt, never really out of breath, non-threshold indeed. Think earlier miles should have been 5% faster. Miles just kept coming, then 2 left. The last was indeed up. Very pretty course for the most part, a bunch of stuff to look at. In part, was chasing a 57 y/o PG who was always ahead...I could even tell what he was going to run the miles just begun. Got behind, only caught up to his pace in last mile. Started too slow, even the 10" to get over line & then some indecision as to what pace to run at. Kept next to Sin for maybe 3 mi (Diane's 53y/o club runner friend - 21:00 5k, won the 50+ 50k in Gloucester, ME, o meet site '04, last wk; runs 6:10 mi on the UNH track in summer). But got ahead of her, then not much consistent company. Sin caught up to me again at 7.2 mi but I was feeling ok & got ahead for good. Might try again next yr. 4th or 5th veteran. Beth & dogs came along for ride/car ferry. Earned a few Alleve.
