Orienteering race 49:13 [4] *** 6.2 km (7:56 / km) +135m 7:10 / km
spiked:11/13c shoes: Teva

Sprague Brook middle. Botched 4th by not taking the requisite extra few seconds, getting in wrong saddle. 6th - pace & compass as well as terrain perusal said go by control in field to left - but it turned out to be my control.
Leg 8 to 9 distracted by m18, when I hit path was not where I even considered I could be. Came upon a culvert over stream, failed to find as I was not looking that far afield - then a small path, ditto - no idea where I was but was not going to take time to find out! So back to compass course as leg was longish & large field would do as target. Relocated in field, was only a minute behind John Campbell (fastest Grn X) on this - good RC if only I knew what I was doing. Went bk after meet & walked some of leg bkwds. A little more reflective capacity called for, as usual, when there is an error. Still, 3rd Grn X behind Campbell & Tryson. Phil a second behind....

Open woods, Harriman without rocks...

May greenery...ran along this, didn't know where I was...

Orienteering race 34:10 [4] *** 3.3 km (10:21 / km) +125m 8:42 / km
spiked:13/16c

Hunters Creek Pk middle. Warm. got hot nr end. Sprinkles. Missed a few, incl the first. Also, 2 others that were in open woods, req'd mostly straight compass, noting key woodstocks. Alot of trails, seemed the course utilized area well. About 3' mistakes/poor RC.

Orienteering race 12:01 [5] *** 2.2 km (5:28 / km) +35m 5:04 / km
spiked:14/14c shoes: Teva

Decent, clean run. Open park, fun. 3rd green X behind Ethan Childs & Tom Svobodny, M50.

John Goodwin at end of sprint...wish I could zoom as his expression says something...

Orienteering 30:00 [2] 2.0 mi (15:00 / mi)

Had planned on BHS track or SPS for 2 X 1 mi. Opted for BHS as needed to get home for dogs. Almost as many there as yest, lacrosse this time. Came home & picked up 5 BG controls. 1 wk to CH 5k & need some 'speed' work.

Back to track - was going to do another but would be noticeably late bk at work. Went to BHS after voting but there was a 4 school meet, a crowd there for once.
