Road running 10:00 [3] 1.3 mi (7:42 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia

Warmup for 5k

Road running race 22:54 [5] 3.1 mi (7:23 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia

SEA 5K, second one, 25" faster last yr. Windy, chilly but still was one 50+y/o who stood waiting for 10', ran & stood around after for another easy 15' ...shirtless. 7:10, 7:32, 7:27, :44. Looked at watch at just 4'+, thinking this is beginning to hurt but felt better approaching halfway. Mary Gosling ran by, just as last yr. NHH team of Diane, Eugene, Chrissy, me & another person known to Diane who added 6:55 pace to results - left before team results. Such races are episodes in 'running honesty' & perhaps get 'easier' with practice. Fastest mile before today was 7:24 on only recent snow-free track, so I shouldn't be too hard on myself.

Note

No run day - lousy, spitting rain at noon - 5k tomorrow so seemed reasonable to bag it. Also, noted O meet at Estabrook Sunday which may be dry, so the weekend has some promise. Came home, short nap for second day in a row...

Road running 41:00 [2] 3.8 mi (10:47 / mi)
shoes: New Balance 992

SloGo with Diane - tee shirt/shorts - tired feeling but maybe partly due to under achieving. Came home desperate for nap around 5pm - did so & off to CYC dinner in Henniker at Beckett's.

Alpine 41:00 [2] 4.1 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: New Balance 992

Nice noon jog w/ Diane, water tower loop w/o tower. Seemed a bit chilly - that's what change of mentality fm winter to spring can do.

Road running 59:09 [3] 6.9 mi (8:34 / mi) +130m 8:06 / mi
shoes: New Balance 992

Run home fm work - overcast, low 40's, first half w/o much effort/inspiration, second part better. Left MTP sore fm weekend running, mostly climbing on steep spurs. Running home leads to virtuous thoughts.... On mend fm ice cream behaviour of past 3 nights...11mi calorie burning is repairative.

Alpine 45:00 [1]

Took part of pm off to go skiing at Sunapee - that or pick up sticks, rake leaves. Snow was too heavy/wet/slow/hard to push aside. At least it wasn't cold but that was the problem. Amounts to another body-rest day.

Trail/woods running 15:00 [2]

With 2 insistent, high-expectation dogs, working on kinks.

Trail/woods running 20:00 [2] 2.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: New Balance 992

Get out the door kind of jog at noon. Was chilly, breezy, raining. Went to CHS track, watched the robins eat dead & dying worms on the wet surface. Kind of a keep-in-motion philosophy.

Orienteering race 49:40 [4] 5.7 km (8:43 / km) +185m 7:30 / km
spiked:15/15c shoes: Brooks Cascadia

Sunday long: good run/map contact. No mistakes, one distraction at 10 when I thought someone just ahead had seen the control which was not the case. More energy than Sat, sky had dried out/no visibility issues. Departed right away for flt - around the time the sun came out.

Waiting to start...

Excellent weekend: great time with Charlie Shahbazian & Phil Bricker; best accomodations yet. QOC did a great job; weather is as wx does.
