Trail/woods running 40:00 [2] 3.8 mi (10:32 / mi)

Trails in Nottingcook, glad to get something done. Sort of a depressing winter day, gloomy, wet/slushy. Ran on snowmobile tracks. Made dogs happy.

Classic skiing 1:20:00 [3] 8.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

XC ski at Waterville w/ Udo & George. Around 30 deg, decent tracks, some debris, cloudy to clearing. Up & down Livermore Rd for most part, Udo & I did some loops near parking lot after. Nice time but I was using waxless & was not keeping up downhill. About 120' driving for 80' skiing but got out of town, to the mountains. Sort of long day waking in Stow, work then W'ville.

End of Livermore, as recorded by ubiquitous camera...

Road/trail 41:00 [2] 3.8 mi (10:47 / mi)
shoes: New Balance 992

Stow, MA fm Peter's house, around Delaney Wildlife Refuge area. Warm Christmas day. Snowmobile, hiker tracks, mushy for the most part.

Yes, I'm going running. No, you cannot come...

Snowshoes 20:00 [1] 0.3 mi (1:06:38 / mi)

Usual dog walk, Beth along. Looking up more, noting trees, some of which would fall but are propped up by others. One not too far away, future half cord of firewood.

Road running 44:00 [2] 4.0 mi (11:00 / mi)
shoes: New Balance 992

Noon, 35 deg, slushy, overcast, spitting on & off, Concord city wander.

Snowshoes 20:00 [1] 0.5 mi (39:59 / mi)

W/ dogs behind house. Like bindings on these Red Feather shoes, easy off/on.

Road running 41:00 [3] 4.0 mi (10:15 / mi)
shoes: New Balance 992

W/ Diane at noon, bright, mid-20's, positively balmy compared to the near zero at start of day.

Decent midday...

Diane's photo (not this) in Union Leader today, running 12mi early on windy, snowy Sat am, piqued interest of reporter. And then, 8 on Sunday...what one can do with one's time...

Classic skiing 25:00 [2] 2.0 mi (12:30 / mi)

Went to SPS after work, noted XC trail was groomed so skated for a while, making good habits, like short, easy visit after day's work. With ground now white, winter dark is isn't so much so. Actually have 3 places to XC ski very near by: Concord HS, SPS & Bow HS.

Snowshoes 30:00 [1] 0.8 mi (37:31 / mi)

On snowshoes in am & pm, mostly for dog walking. Try to keep track of time on same for winter.

Classic skiing 35:00 [2] 2.5 mi (14:00 / mi)

At SPS, skate ski, drove over w/ Diane who jogged on more or less packed snowmobile track. Not adequately groomed but not bad for Monday just before Christmas after 14" day before. Sunny, windy but ok when not in long field. Past few days are for recalling what winter is about as well as finding things.

Sunday Dec 21, 2008 #

Road/trail 1:07:00 [2] 4.7 mi (14:15 / mi)
shoes: New Balance 992

Jog in farly heavy snow, to Robinson & into town forest, initially firm fm old snowmobile tracks, later fairly soft &, at end, 12" untracked powder. Indeed, a wintry day this first day of winter. Recalled 6 yrs ago when Mocha was a 5-6 month old pup, we would take the woods part of this run & 1.5 y/o Zoe would 'beat' on her most of the way. It was long enough for pup of that age.

Summer forgotten...
