Big Weekend - Arthurs Seat - Brown
Decent race, had a very surprising amount of energy akin to BUCS Relay feels. Pushed as hard as I could and only made a few wobbles in the gorse the second time round. Really enjoyed the course, nice planning by Emma. Threw my back and quad out on the last descent feeling very old but wasn't too bad after.

Big Weekend - Edinburgh City Race - Men Open
Knee pain transferred into my quad which I much preferred :-) So quite excitedly went into it. Need a bigger WU but was pre running so had to get going. Feeling fast but not explosive so quite bad in intricate bits while having good splits on the running sections. Few little bad routes and stops to read the map but mostly good. Waking up controls became a bit tedious but didn't waste more than 2s/control.

Easy
Round Mortonhall with a bit of a dodgy knee. FWTN in the evening so another easy day, but this was alright because I had a phat hangover from SU ball.

Long Hilly
Birthday fun. Up horribly early to meet Tim (and Ali until Caerketton) at Blackford for half 6. Didn't expect to get very far with my knee still a bit dodgy but it must have known what day it was as it played ball, and then became even more comfortable on some easy hills for most of the run. Absolutely stunning sunrise, unlike anything I've ever seen with totally blue skies and a cloud inversion stretching from Midlothian to the borders. Nice dumping of snow on the hills but not impeding at all and if anything nice with frozen mud on Hare and Black Hills. Did get a bit cold at the start with -4c and a bit of wind chill but all warmed up by the time the sun rose at about Carnethy. Feeling strong throughout and only needed a bit of food, including a birthday cake gel from Tim towards the end. Truly an unforgettable day, and happy to finish with only a bit of tweaking from the knee on the road home.
