Long Hilly
Finally got out the the Lochnagar loop that I was keen to do last month. Beautiful day, blue skies and hard pack snow above 850m made things a breeze to run on. Started hard up the steep zig zags to Broad Cairn. Died before the top but think this was because my bumbag was bouncing ludicrously with a weird jacket tying combo. Sorted things out and then enjoyed some amazing scenes heading through the plateaus - https://www.instagram.com/p/BryH9tFgfLp/
However, could see some thick cloud coming in around 1050m and sure enough by top number 4 I was getting quite panicked and lost. Had followed footsteps to the top of 'Carn a'Choire Bhoidheach' but unfortunately there was nothing linking Lochnagar. Took a vague bearing but strayed well off and lost a bit of height. Snow started, whiteout, couldn't tell ground from sky and started my prayers just as the cloud cleared again and I found some walkers heading up Lochnagar. All good from here on, took the waterfall way down and knee started hurting but ignored it and thumped the last few km as hard as possible which meant sub 4s, still happy enough with the effort. Nice to do again without any fuel and hamstring once again happy.

Getting the bike and defrosting the legs. Woke up at 4am and couldn't sleep because of the achy legs. Also slept about 12hrs total yesterday...

Driving home and spotted West Lomond covered in some sweet mist as the wind hit the western wall in some great sunshine. So had to go up and check it out, with great results

Note

Camped out on Castle Law forest with a walk up in the morning as a solstice 'treat'. A bit chilly but never slept so well in a tent, definitely helped by the exam!

Solstice Skyline
With a good group of Oleg, Scott, Jonny and Liam. Started quite steady but eased at about half way and walked a lot of the second half, not so much because it was necessary but more because it wasn't unnecessary. Former two died a bit after half way but kept them within a few minutes behind so we could share some whiskey at the final top, albeit at different times. Really happy that in the space of a year, I've gone from "will I be able to finish this" to "wonder if I could do it without food and water". Answer was just about fine with a bit of cramp by the end, probably unrelated.. Great burger and sugarwater with Murray and Tess after :-)

Intentionally - or not - kept short today. Needed it anyway. Nice and early up the seat before my final exam.

Easy Pentlands
With some steady climbs along with Cameron and Oliver (haries). Good chat, lovely weather, and impressed with how fast they were climbing, struggling to keep up at times but no one was really talking at these points... Oliver in Nike flats which was good fun to watch. Pretty slippy out. Finished feeling strong, good to get through these runs without any supplies needed except the clothes on my body and shoes on my feet.
Really needed to revise today but did this instead... A good sum up of the semester, and I seem to have gotten away with it. Whoever thought of 5th year engineering, thank you :-)

Easy
Tried to get to Pentlands but bailed when x-talons felt uncomfortable and stomach went. Pit stop in KB, hard climb up Blackford, skate down and then back to doing nothing for the rest of the day.

From the gym. Quite shattered again so just kept it short with exams taking their toll these days. Did a reverse Tom Ryan's climb for sketchy fun.
