Ride before breakfast, day was already getting hot. Did upper body weights during the ride which really upped my heart rate

Went for an after dinner run, along the bike track then up through the domain for a run of the jogging track then back. Felt really good on it, but shouldnt go over the top with the long/ fastish runs

Went to physio today, he massaged knee and it feels really good. went for a run to test it, all okay but will still take it slow for a bit

Rode on the bike again today, but used upper body weights to lift the heart rate. Pretty good work out, but not as good as a run which i cant yet do. My knee feels good so shouldnt be long before a run

Note

Went to the physio today and was told that i have a pilka (or something that sounds like that anyway). Basically a fold in my knee, maybe the lining of some fluid sack i think, that causes discomfort. in my case it causes discomfort that stops me running. Cycle all i want, dont run for a week or so while doing physio sessions.
I now have 3 right knee injuries. None are directly from my training, they are more just bad luck from twisting and bumping.
Feels like i've spent the last few months having one week training and 2 weeks off. pretty shit

on thursday i had a rest day cause my knee wasnt feeling great from the excess running. thursday night i went out to see Grandmaster Flash. Awesome gig, but after about an hour of dancing i felt something in my knee go pop. It kept making a clicking sound for the rest of thursday night, and some of friday. So i had two days off cause it just felt v tender.
Not bad today so went for a ride in the garage

Went from my house down to the river side and ran along the bike track. Cut up to the domain where a dog called rosie chased me down and jumped on me. After i had calmed the dog down and its owners had lazily called out Rosie!, half a dozen times, it left me alone.
But not really. ten seconds later when i'd started running off i herd the call of Rosie again and turned to see the dog pelting at me, teeth showing. I steepped at it and that scared it away. Bloody dog owners.
Run was fine apart from that. Felt like i had plenty in the tank left over

Around Risdon dam. still feeling the effects of saturdays run. Did two loops of the dam but had alot of time of tracks to the side, looking for the longest hills possible- after saturday i think my training needs more of it

Dad was very keen on this run, i was very keen to sleep. Dad won the battle of wills. We went on a loop from cornelian bay to the top of the domain and back. Fair bit of hill in this which was pretty hard seeing as my legs feel shreded from yesterday. good recovery though

Running race (Tassie Trail Run) 2:20:08 [4] 20.44 km (6:51 / km)

First tas trail run of series. Alot more people there than normal.
Really good 17k course near port arthur. Had about 3km of climb at the start, this took us to a mountain top that was covered in cloud and rain. From there it was a sweet fun decent along cliff tops. at some points we were less than a meter from 50-100m sheer cliff drops- i tried not to focus on that too much.

After Canoe Bay I was about 3k from the finish and comfortably in the top ten aiming at a time of 1h 45m. I saw a bush walker coming the other way. He was looking at the arrow marking our course up ahead on a fork in the track. He was grinning at it and chuckling to himself, then saw me and forced the grin away and looked straight down. He smiled to himself as i ran past and I said hello. He just ignored me which i thought was really odd for a bush walker. The arrow pointed right so i followed it along a good track, then a dodge track then almost no track untill it popped out at a forrestry road. Because I'd run most of the race alone i hadnt been suprised not to see anyone infront or behind me, but now popping out in a clearing i could see i was miles from the coast- where i needed to be.

15min from where i turned off, i turned back around and went back. I guess something should have twigged when i didnt see anyone around but i was just trusting in the course marker. Going back through the horrible scrub over the dead trees was exhausting. When I got back to the turn the arrow was pointing to the left. I finished the course and came 27th, just behind nigel davis. He didnt believe my story and then when i asked around i found that everyone else saw the arrow as pointing left.

This all just left me really really fustrated because i now have no proof and just look foolish.

Running warm up/down 26:31 [3] 4.77 km (5:34 / km)

One lap around telosa park for warm up, one for warm down. two decent hills in this

Running intervals 29:20 [5] 6.84 km (4:17 / km)

Did laps around the small lake in telosa park. About 800m into the lap there is a moderate hill, takes about 30sec to get up. This was good to push at a point where i was tired. I also enjoyed that there was still a few hundred meters to sprint after the hill, ment there was no time for a recovery.

Planned on doing 4 laps with 1 min rest between each one, ended up doing 5 laps

5.05, 5.09, 5.01, 4.55, 5.01.

Pretty happy with the consistancy, especially because i was wrecked for the 5th

Put in alot more effort than usual on this thing. prob cause it was my first ride in a while and wanted to make up for not running the cadburys half marathon today.

Sickness gone, just need and ultra sound to make sure its not a gall stone or a tumor causing it. Both super super unlikley so i'm prob fine

First run for a while. Body felt good, i was worried i'd double over in cramps from it but i guess i survived fine. First lap of risdon with dad, second on my own. Bloody hot day dripping sweat after one lap, but managed to go faster on the second lap. First lap was a 3 intensity, second a 4 but i dont know how to mark that on here so 4 will stay

have been sick since 2nd of jan. bad stomach ache at first then other aches all over. went to the hospital yesterday after serious pains and they put me on a drip. Doctor was pretty shit, didnt have any real conclusion and dismissed me after blood and urine test. Doc said that it may just be my body detoxing from drinking alot over new years... Pain is still in my abdomon and i cant really do much. seeing a different Doc tomorrow.

All this made worse as i was on holiday on the west coast and when the stomach cramps came in Laura and I were an hour from launceston. not fun.

ment to be doing cadburys half marathon on sunday, dont think i'll be able to. if anyone else wants to take my spot go for it

After finding myself watching the sunrise over the crystal clear waters of marion bay at 5 I felt so charged with energy i went running up to the end of where we had beach access then back again. did this 3 times each was 5min so i guess that was the days work out...
