Core O'Clock 30:00 [2]

130 pushups (65+65), 20xpedestal, 15 minute plank (10, 1 rec, 5), 30 pullups.

I was motivated throughout this workout by Antonio while he followed a workout video led by a SeƱor Fausto Murillo (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JZ-rdey-t0)

It just goes to show that all you need for a successful Youtube channel is to be in incredible shape, a decent camera, and a park where onlookers can enjoy your strange music and motivational shouts.

POM Day 4 Long, also entitled "Run your fastest and don't screw up the bearing"

Chase Start, but I was alone for most of it. I was going back and forth with a French runner who I relied on too much. I followed him off course a few times and lost too much time there. I caught a Swede on the final butterfly loop and he and I were competing hard the entire way through. I beat him in the end but he cleared the fence on the way to #31 and cut down the distance I had put on him. That was fun!

Today was also when my Achille's tendon limited me the most. I wanted to go faster for most of the course but couldn't because of the tendon. I'm pretty confident the Icebugs I got a few months have caused the recurring problem. So I picked up some VJ Bolds and we'll see how my Achille's likes them.

After some research, I found that the Swede I caught (re-caught in fact because he caught me) was Niclas Jonasson, World Champ in the sprint in 2004 and the Relay in 2003. Loved having a chance to duel with him on the final loops.

POM Day 3 Middle.

#8 was really where I lost my course, but I lost time on #12 also because I didn't see it immediately. I also struggled to take an accurate exit bearing in this terrain. Lost a good amount of time on that also. But all told, pretty stoked with how close I am to the top on a disaster day.

POM Day 2 Long.

Definitely need to work on my route choices, but I was happy with how my body handled the challenge. Lost a lot of time on 15 and 16. Need to work on that!

Almost forgot to mention that I had a really encouraging chat with TGIF himself after this race. His enthusiasm about my training and competition reminded me how important it is to be confident in myself. Really great advice from him.

POM Day 1 Middle.

Pretty happy with my race today. Terrain was fairly similar to a lot of maps in Madrid so I had a good idea how to get across the greens and read the rocks. I could have chosen a better route to #12 though.
