3 intervals trying out my new map in Cantos Negros. Really fun area. Fast, technical, and green but not too much. The only negative part. The hunters wandering around. That put a damper on the session.

Downhill course on the old map in Cercedilla.

Error time: 6:00

Errors:
-Struggling in two areas where the map - it was quite old - had changed a lot. The features were also quite small.
-Terrible route choice from six to seven.

Causes:
-Bad map, didn't look for reference features.
-Didn't want to take trails for some reason. Also wanted to avoid taking the same route as Rorri. How many times have I tried to get past someone only to screw up more.

Solutions:
-Bad map? Look for the stuff that hasn't changed for sure, essentially not trails. Don't trust trails.
-Buuuut if you know that a trail will take you to where you want to go... take it! It's faster than fighting through green.

Corridor in CDC

I'm just learning how to do make corridors in OpenOrienteeringMapper, but this was a first attempt. It wasn't pretty but it worked.

I had to cut off the large white section because it was taking longer than I thought it would.

I once again got off track in the same area. What is it about that area that gets me? This I meditate.

I decided to roll this one out on Madrid Rio since my legs were still feeling Sunday's race. I needed the flat terrain and the extra people for motivation.

Didn't feel as strong and didn't glide as the other times. But I got it done.
