Cycling 35:00 [2] 15.0 km (25.7 kph)

Riding to the race.
10 AM

Running 1:26:46 [4] 16.04 km (5:25 / km) +1019m 4:06 / km

Moralzarzal Trail Race. Really fun race. Started my watch ten minutes before so it would be ready. 1st place.

I took the lead from the start and never let it go. I had a group with until the first serious climb of 100 meters and after that I was alllllloooonnnee.

The terrain was much more technical than I expected which I think worked in my favor.

I had a simple strategy: take out the first 15 minutes at a fast pace, faster than what would be normal for 16k, see what the competition was like, if I was alone then it would be comfortably hard effort, and if with people, well it would be race. I was alone so it was comfortably hard. In fact, I was so alone that when I got the highest point in the race my stomach told me it was time for a pitstop of number 2. That's a first. Lost about a minute there. After that the technical downhills were really fun.

Forgot to stop my garmin. Oopss!

Moralzarzal Vertical Climb race. 2.4k, 360 meters of climb. I won this race in 14:57. 2nd place was 16:29. It was a really strange feeling. I wasn't tired. And my legs never hurt while I was climbing. I kept pushing and my legs didn't hurt. My lungs did get to a point where they couldn't get enough air. Really fun race.
