Orienteering 2:02:00 [3] **** 17.1 km (7:08 / km) +469m 6:16 / km
spiked:20/23c

Physical not too difficult of a day. About 5 centimeters of snow on the ground and a fog that got thicker as I climbed the mountain. At the bottom visibility was about 400-500 meters, at the top about 30. It gave a Night-O feel to the run.
About 10 minutes of jogging between uphill and downhill sections.

I was hoping the downhill section would be faster. Unfortunately all the snow and wet rocks made it much slower going. Also I was mentally pretty tired out by the end. I suppose that's good.

Map with route and controls. It's difficult without flags or streamers. This map also has trails and powerlines removed. Just how difficult can we make it...

Running tempo 1:00:03 intensity: (30:00 @3) + (30:03 @4) 13.11 km (4:35 / km) +180m 4:17 / km

A late night tempo. Darn English teacher classes in the morning. I made a 5k circuit through town since I didn't feel like carrying a headlamp for a tempo.

Not many reflections. A decent workout. It feels good to have a longish sustained effort like that.

Running 1:20:00 [3] 15.6 km (5:08 / km) +480m 4:27 / km

Medium long run. It was slower because of all the climbing. But so is orienteering. I ran up Telégrafo, saw the mountains, and then hustled down straight through the woods. The wet rocks made it a slower descent, but fun nonetheless. Finished up with 10x20/40's. My hamstrings really hurt from yesterday.

Coreworkout 25:00 [4]

3 sets of:

1:30 Plank
20 reps of 10kg
50 push ups
20 lunges

2 minute break between circuits.

Orienteering 1:15:00 [3] 10.0 km (7:30 / km)

Night-O in El Pardo. It was a decent run. I got turned around on a few controls but I always managed to relocate well. It was quite green and the rain was coming down hard. It made me feel a lot tougher. Cool.

Also finding a wild boar near one of the controls was a nice little surprise. I think he wanted to play a game but I told him I had to be on my way.

Running 1:50:01 [3] 23.04 km (4:46 / km) +287m 4:30 / km

Long run back home after school. Calves are destroyed now. I felt better today than last week.

Running with a backpack and into the wind with freezing rain is certainly noticeable.

Some very nice views of the mountains and the lake at Manzanares.

Time to rest.
