Orienteering 47:02 [3] 6.2 km (7:35 / km)

Decent Race at Myrick. I got confused at my number 15. I kept thinking that it was in the wrong spot and wasted 2-2.5 minutes until I decided to go further upstream and check. And voila it was there. Legs were still shot from yesterday so I wasn't going anywhere fast. Still ran decently I think.

Running race 40:33 [5] 6.4 mi (6:20 / mi) +259m 5:38 / mi

Wissahickon Trail Classic. Initially a little disappointed because I had the same exact time and place as last year. But really I did advance because the race field gets deeper every year. And they changed the course to add on maybe 360 to 400 meters by my estimation. So I feel I got my sub 40 goal. I definently ran better than last year because I was up with people who creamed me last year. When the race started out at I stuck in the top group of 5 or 6 guys. We were really moving down the drive. I'd say about 5:30 pace which some guys tried to hold on to going up the first major hill. I tried holding on to the top 3 but with how I was feeling when I got to the top I knew if I kept driving that way I wasn't going to make it to the end of the race running. So I held back a little bit and a few guys came back to me. A few guys also passed me.
I had a little bit of late race drama too. I had about a 10-15 meter lead on the kid behind me on forbidden drive so going into the last hill I decided to take a risk and let him catch me so I could rest while he would work to make up the difference. The risk did not turn out well for me. He tried passing me quickly once he caught up and I responded and held on. But every time the trail flattened out he would surge. I responded a few times but he did break me. I tried making up some time on the downhill but he seemed to be just as good at taking the downhills as I am. Still he beat me by about 3 minutes last year and only about 20 seconds this year. I definently feel as though I am in better shape and think this past season has shown that. I own this race as mine.

Running 45:00 [3] 6.7 mi (6:43 / mi)

Run with Bryn Mawr Running Co. out of their Manayunk store. I ran with the owner Mike. We were rolling pretty fast on the drive. I was sore. But it felt good.

Running 40:00 [3] 6.1 mi (6:33 / mi)

Really Really moving on the drive. One of my miles was a 5:52. The others were around 6:03. Hmm. It doesn't feel easy. But I'm not killing myself to do it either. Well if I break down I break down. If it builds me up then good.
