8x1200 meters @ threshold pace with 90 seconds recovery. Since Spence wasn't sure about what our respective levels of fitness were because we had been gone for the whole summer he put us in a pace group that he felt best with but let us know that he could be very wrong. I was put in the last pace group which was to run 4:12-4:18 for 1200 meters on a grass loop with about 5 other guys. I led the first one and then after that everyone slowly started falling off of me. I was holding to my paces and the whole workout turned out really really well for me. People who were in pace groups in front of me were hurting and fell behind me once they couldn't hold. However for me this workout felt very easy. I wasn't jogging the whole thing but I was obviously not working hard. The only one that even remotely hurt was the last one and it honestly was not that bad. This was a good day for me it showed me that I am in the good shape I thought I was and that my season has the potential to go really well. However this is only the beginning, this is an indicator of where I am at but I still have to do everything to get me there. TIME TO DO WORK!
