Note

I tend to forget how spoilt we are with instantaneous online results in orienteering.

IMRA Crone-Maulin-Djouce Powerscourt Ridge Run.

Kept it pretty steady, no great energy to force the uphills or really let go on the downhills. Weather was better than expected, grand running conditions, sun peeked through at one point, but I guess it wasn't impressed. Some old lad was running nicely, descending well and steady on the uphill. I was just behind him from the top of Maulin to the wee rise after the river on the way down. I thought I might catch him on the way down, but he pulled away.

Soup and sandwiches afterwards were great!

Note Lost 6:20 to Colm by the top of Djouce, another 6 on the descent. Oops.

Note

My sister has a colleague in Belfast whose brother is a colleague of mine with a flatmate whose colleague is my housemate.

Say what?

Featherbeds
LL event.

Great area, only other time running here was some nighto a while back. But it is also close to brutal -- not sure when the last time was I fell so many times in an event.

Left calf is still whining.

This morning I gave the chest-of-drawers beside the bed an almighty wallop with my elbow while reaching out to get some water. I managed not to scream, but definitely gasped and grimaced and groaned. I stayed in bed, now fully awake, a while longer to see if the nerve would calm down a bit. It seemed in no mood to. Even now, ten hours later, the hand still feels weird, but should right itself soon enough.
