trail run warm up/down 15:00 [2]

orienteering race 1:35:31 [3]
28c

FinnSpring
Had hopes of running better, but my legs weren't in the mood, and my mind had trouble too. I think I was still a bit tired from Gbg.

Stupid mistake on #3 (30-40s), mistakes on #5 (1:25), #12 (15s), #13 (dir leaving #12) (20s), #26 (70s).
My-O counts 7:47 of errors, but I disagree. 87% success... http://www.mysport.fi/mysport/my-o/index.php?optio...#
Bolds weren't in the best of shape starting, and they loosened (not sure if because of the 'fitlock' disintegrating or just getting wet), retied one en route to 6, and the other en route to 9. Independently of all that, between 10 and 11, I got a stick through the sole (like in Westmoreland with my O-Rocs). So I stopped and sat down for a bit and waggled it back out the way it came in. Foot wasn't too sore (not even a scratch, though it puncture the insoles and bruised a little), so I started running again, just a bit gingerly and none too motivated. Tried to push a little nevertheless, as competition it is, but I was pretty happy not to be needing this race for tiomila selection. Pottered along. Managed to run up the hill to 21, which surprised me, just kept going at a steady pace, had someone behind me for 22-25, made a mistake at 26 so punched behind him there, overtook him to the last control, let him (and most everyone else) outsprint me, since I wasn't in a battle for seconds today.

Hohum, could have been worse. Also, looked for gps this morning, couldn't find it, turns out it was in the *other* bag.

Everyone else piled in the bus back to Hel, I stayed on and camped overnight. Really quite pleasant, only met the one mosquito and I won.

trail run 48:00 [3]

4 hills, faster on them, slow there and back

yesterday's session but a bit shorter, pre-breakfast

Ovh: last year's finnspring, for inspiration

Note

Finished 'lecturing' today, finished Finnish course today, finished today with a mild dose of the scuts, scuppering hill interval plans.

Note

I went to college with Donal Dineen and Here comes the night.

bike 45 [3]

cycled to work and back, gently. Shorts and sandals weren't as smart today as yesterday.

Did a little strength and stretching to loosen up in the morning.

Ovh: http://3drerun.worldofo.com/2d/index.php?idmult[]=... A bit painful.

trail run 54:00 [2]

fat-burning (aka in search of breakfast) jog. Two hills then up to the top of Latokartano map, Alepa and home.

What's with the weather, warm and sunny!

Ovh: read some epic nighto map, plus some latokartano.

Note

I knew something would go badly wrong if I ran this much. I've been training more than alex the past week.

Note

Any 2drerun experts out there?

This isn't calibrated properly... http://3drerun.worldofo.com/2d/index.php?idmult[]=...

Despite being imported directly from http://www.mysport.fi/mysport/my-doma/show_map.php...

Any idea why? Somewhat strangely, 2drerun (or maybe Topi's gps) thinks that Topi ran on the 19th, rather than the 18th.

Collecting Iltarastit emit yokemebobs.

Riikka decided to join me, so had good company and had someone to put the thingummyjigs into my rucksack without me taking it off.

Perfect weather. And no insects.

35 hours since my last session, so felt pretty fresh, despite not sleeping much on the boat or bus.

At least 6 or 7 of us from the training camp were there helping out (Synnöve) this evening. It's a good club.
