Note

Another month where I fail to do 20h of training, and there isn't much time left before winter.

I strained my back about 3 weeks ago maybe, nothing too too bad, but each time I fall it gets a bit worse, night-o episodes weren't especially kind to it. The fall on Sunday got it to the stage where I have to take a break from O and let it heal. Pooh.

Maybe now the bit below my knee, near the top of the right shin, inner side, that's been aching will recover. It could be some sort of jumpers' knee thing, it's the inner side of where the patellar tendon joins the shin.

Note

Sent off another application, sort of complete, 3 minutes before the deadline. Then came home and slept for four hours, waking up at 11pm.

SM-viesti

Running with Timmo (1st) and Atte (3rd) on an international and incomplete team, so no results. Not sure if it was because we were n/c or what, but I was slower than I ought to be, and made more mistakes than I ought. TG ran 43.

Terrain was fantastic, some vague stuff to begin with, then into lovely kallio in marsh stuff, like Lunsen maybe but bigger features and even some slope. Out and back in for some more and then off to a short stretch of kangas and a finally a little grot to finish.

Timmo made a couple of mistakes, so the terrain was sparsely populated, though there was one guy I kept meeting up with. I ran past 2 to the left, then circled around before returning, vague vague, thought I headed into it in the right direction, but apparently not.

Mostly good after that, one control I got within 10m of spiking but read the control circle slightly wrong, thought I was looking for the cliff not the hill at (6/7?). Then 14 I screwed up, repeatedly. Fast and good till 18. Coming out to cross the road towards 19 I fell and tumbled a little, soft and sandy landing but my back still didn't appreciate it. Kept pushing, though gingerly, to 19, refolding my map and shaking sand off... messed 19 up completely unnecessarily, it wasn't hard, but 2 minutes. Poo. And then the last control, nothing too remarkable.

Nice to see VT take the top two spots, Tue gave it all to hold off Thierry on the run-in.

And good to meet other happy foreigners.
