Minaun from Slievemore, with Clare Island behind:
Then I ran 8 minutes from the mast up to Mary, and sat there for a while admiring the 360º views from Minaun, just phenomenal, and wonderful sunshine.
And then the descent! Bog-mogulling downhill from Minaun is about the most fun one can have with one's clothes on. Even without the stunning views it would be wonderful, but this was magical. After the descent, there was the return across the bog, some of it quite the slog. After being out 1h50, I stopped to soak up some energy, and my knee froze up, took a while to shake that out.
Back to the house, ran my legs under the outside tap to clean them off and cool down a bit, put the head under the tap too.
After a couple of slices of soda bread and a shower, walked down to the beach for a bracing swim in Dugort, lovely, took a while to get cold afterwards.
Back up to the house for a steak, potatoes and tomatoes, then off to the Valley House for music and guinness and people and music. When I arrived there were maybe twenty people, I only counted fifteen of them playing music...
Cycled home at 3am.
