orienteering 46:00 intensity: (8:18 @1) + (8:57 @2) + (26:20 @3) + (2:25 @4) 5.0 km (9:12 / km)
ahr:148 max:172 10c

Did some of Day 2, hoping the knee would warm up and get less sore. Failed.
QR, for what it's worth. Annoyed I didn't stay closer to the line going to 8, or even a little right of. 5 was fairly terrible too, clearly not focussed on racing.

orienteering race 1:24:24 intensity: (10 @1) + (32 @2) + (13:45 @3) + (55:48 @4) + (14:09 @5) 11.55 km (7:18 / km)
ahr:177 max:189 20c

US Classic Champs Day 1
I've done worse, but no way I should be within five minutes of the lead... nor should I have led the race the first three controls. Too sloppy and too slow.

QR. I only calibrated the route with two points, at 18 and where I left the path between 6 and 11. In some places it's good, others there is distortion.

#1 I spiked, despite what QR says, but took a while to leave the start and work out a direction to run in. #2 was bad, very hesitant, didn't understand. Around 5/6/11 it seems there was a little distortion, might explain wiggles. #8 as well, not sure what was up, but the control was at the red bend in the qr route, at the top of the circle, assuming the gps track is in the right place. Going to #10 I was on the north side of the stream.

Big mistakes to #17 and #19. Poor. I lost the racing spirit after Ken disappeared en route to 16. He caught me on the way to 9, so I sped up for a few controls.

Lots of fun, but would be better with fitness. Left knee was tender afterwards, PSU problem recurred.

Note

I like the # link thing that pops up now to make it easy to get urls of training entries. Simple but great, like all of AP.

Slept like crap last night again, nose half clogged.

J-J is also pretty amazing. Not flawless, but amazing.

trail run 48:38 [3] 6.73 km (7:14 / km)

up to the top of Blue Mountain, not exactly what I had intended, but it was lovely out...

Tired later, bailed on climbing.

Yesterday evening, dozed on the couch from 6.30-8.30 instead of going for a jog, then grabbed a bite to eat, sent a couple of emails etc, went to bed 10.something, didn't sleep till after 1. Don't remember when I awoke, probably 7 or 8.
