orienteering race 46:00 [3] 5.0 km (9:12 / km) ahr:135
Nationale near Dijon
Got up just after 6 am to get a bus to get a bus to Bourg St Maurice to collect a car to drive to the event.
Stopped for cheese and pâté in a wee town between Chambery and Bourg en Bresse.
Missed my 15h07 start time and got rescheduled for 16h01. Warming up I felt fine, but the first patch of ducking and diving had my adductors complaining again, so I couldn't run aggressively. Took it v easy on the slopes especially. At that speed I was able to keep the mistakes to not much more than a minute.
Levachet - Val Claret
again
did a 3:53 kilometre in the middle, to see whether I was capable of running. Obviously not :)

I get the feeling skiing from cold is a bad idea. In any case, both hams were giving out (the muscles that pull the legs towards the inside). I decided to quit after a few runs because I want to be able to run at the weekend.
Mostly on blue slopes. Cut the day short as my left knee was a little sore in the morning. Didn't notice it skiing home in the afternoon. Left ham gave out until it warmed up a bit.
Barely fell until I was sent down a rather difficult black slope. The blue one we wanted take was closed due to risk of avalanche. I was told I had no choice. Fell many times on the way down, but gentle falls as I shat myself way too much to pick up speed. Think I did a little damage to my lateral leg muscles here...
Nice day.
Skiing à Tignes
Fell less than yesterday (maybe twenty times). Did a couple of red slopes, including from the top of La Grande Motte, 3400m... Tignes is at 2100 more or less.
Happy days. Still exhausted. Sunny, less over-dressed.
And the week begins. Skiing in Tignes. Le plus bel espace de ski du monde, apparently.
I was thrown out immediately on the blue slopes. Fell over many, many times, certainly over 60 or 70.
Weather wasn't great, but I was over-dressed and sweated excessively and got hit by temperature swings. Exhausted by the evening. Actually, I was exhausted by lunch.
