running 49:45 [3]

arsta loop

there was a hare (or rabbit?) hanging out in a garden in Tanto, I stopped to say hello and watch for a bit, all of 2 metres away... it seemed blithely aware of my presence and went back to nibbling grass after a bit.

Annoyed with myself for not running 15k this morning.

trail run warm up/down 18:00 [2]

A girl started talking to me on the T-bana this evening. Strange that, especially given that she was Swedish... I think it may be to do with the Swedish desire to help people in need, which occasionally overcomes their fear of strangers. In this case, I had big open wounds on my hands and she wanted to know if she could give me a plaster. I put on a show of bravado and said it wasn't necessary, but thanks anyway. She then changed tack and claimed that it didn't look nice, like she was in the fashion police or something. So I said ok, but that I'd require six or seven plasters because she'd only seen the start of it... and then said it was ok, that I'd be fine, I'm not sure she had that many plasters and didn't want to put her to the test. She got off the next stop.

Smalandstest out on Jungfrusund, Ekero

Night-O

bit of a mistake to the first, route to the fifth (execution), lost a bit of time a few metres from the control at 7, lost a good minute at eight, boulder was farther from the path than i expected and I dropped too low... 11 seemed strange, 12 I went around a bit far, going to 14 I got stuck in unmapped green and understood nothing but still headed to the control ok, small miss at 19, nothing dangerous, 21 and 22 I had trouble taking a bearing to lit paths(!)... got to the last control ok, then decided not overdo the pussyfootig down a steep, mossy, rock face and regretted it pretty swiftly... missing skin on both hands and bashed the elbow too... doesn't seem to be anything serious, just stings a bit now.

according to Garmin I ran 13.35km

this was almost enjoyable, bizarrely, given the time of day ;p

Note

shortly after I got home, freshly-baked kanelbullar arrived from the neighbour... yummy

Made a couple of mistakes, so couldn't believe it when my watch said I only took 26 minutes for the 5km course... so I looked at the map and found the three controls I skipped. Doh.

The theme recurred again Guests are gone now, so things should improve. Not that it wasn't a great weekend :)

orienteering 38:00 [1] 4.7 km (8:05 / km)

Jogged back out to find the controls I skipped as a warm down.
