Red course at Four Mile Circle. 7.3k, 65m climb. NJ Pine barrens: flat, much blueberry undergrowth, great visibility, no rock, lots of trails and not a lot of features. Follow the compass and keep your eyes open. An OK run with most errors being hesitations in or near the circle to read terrain details to figure out which way to look to spot the bag. Distracted at the start by a large group of beginners in training about to start, which cost me about 90 seconds on the super-short first leg. About 40F and mostly sunny, so a good day for December orienteering.

Walking Purchase Park, starting from Constitution Drive parking (i.e, the low point of the trail system so the first part was generally uphill and the second part down). Stayed west of Constitution Drive and got to some trails I hadn't been on before. Would've explored more but was running out of light (didn't get running until about 4pm). Overcast, just about 40F and breezy. The trails are still rocky.
