Orienteering race 1:23:36 [5] **** 7.1 km (11:46 / km)
spiked:9/12c shoes: VJ Falcons

NAOC Long Course on Rocky Ridge map. A nice mix of (very) techinical legs with route choice legs (including one that was 2.3km long). Had a pretty clean run through the first six controls then lost about 8 minutes on 7 and 8, in both cases by not being certain of my attack point. Clean the rest of the way. Took mostly trails for the long leg but lost maybe a minute by getting caught in a marshy area that was thicker than the map showed. Another day with outstanding weather.

Orienteering race 47:24 [5] **** 3.7 km (12:49 / km)
spiked:6/12c shoes: VJ Falcons

NAOC Middle Distance on Rocky Ridge map. Subtle, complex contour and rock detail with lots of rock underfoot. 10-11 minutes of errors spread among about 4 controls. Could have been much worse since relocation in some of the areas was quite tricky. Distraction by others led to a 5 minute error on #10 which should have been a straightforward leg. A mediocre run at best, but good enough for 9th in M45-54 (and 3rd among those 50+), so many others struggled even more. Still 19 minutes behind the winner. Outstanding weather again today (60's and sunny).

Orienteering 1:00:00 [2] **** 3.0 km (20:00 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcons

Walking (and a little jogging) on the training map for the NAOC. Challenging terrain.

Orienteering race 16:10 [5] *** 2.4 km (6:44 / km)
spiked:16/16c shoes: NB 804 - Size 9.5

Sprint at NAOC on McMaster University map. Course 2 (Older folks course). Fun and fast course with lots of route choices around buildings. Missed a better route to number 4 and lost about 20 seconds. Otherwise pretty clean except for the occasional hesitation. Definitely a course for the runners. Outstanding weather - mostly sunny and about 15C (that's Canadian for ~60F).

Orienteering 20:00 [3] ** 2.0 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: NB 804 - Size 9.5

Jogging around the training course plus assorted other "warmup" (like to the car a few times to get things I forgot).

Road Run 22:07 [3] 2.55 mi (8:40 / mi)
shoes: NB 804 - Size 9.5

Short run south on Rt 66 and back with 5 or 6 pickups on the return. Brisk (50F and dropping) - wore long sleeves and tights, and didn't feel too overdressed. Trying out the shoes I'm planning to use for tomorrow's NAOC sprint.

Road Run 37:06 [3] 4.25 mi (8:44 / mi)
shoes: NB 878 - #6

Rt 66N, Pratt Road, Bacchus, 66S. One big hill in the second half of the first mile. 63F with sprinkles. Quite humid for October.
