Horrible race on my part, still managed to win somehow with ex-injury and some stupid cough.

Started in hurry some seconds late - jog was too long to start and had to wait at bathroom before that. Grab map, put description in, then start running. Will started some 6 more minutes behind.

Apparently I was brilliant on 3 - got first place, although by 3 I saw Dusty trying to find that, so he was probably much faster.

Got all confused on 5 - I messed up up and down in contours, thought that ditch is on spur and not in re-entrant. Not sure why ditch is there on map - it seemed like a stream-bed in re-entrant. Followed Nikolay for a while, who already was going for 6. Oops. Met Emily C at 5 - she was number 3rd then.

9 was really good leg on course; had two troubles - in yellow open went sub-optimal round; before that could not catch the trail. Met both Dusty AND Nikolay at 9.

On trail to 10 Dusty just passed me - I could not push at all, he was way too fast. We fought till 16, where he chose to go low and I chose to go high - I guess the high was best route. Then from 19 went below.

Turned out that Dusty ran into couple of issues and by finish I was ahead by quite a margin.

Orienteering 47:59 [4]

Bad race at St. Edwards. No warmup, no calm down before start, no taping ankles (rolled one), no warm down after run.

Bunch of mistakes. I disagree with course setter on using 1:10000 map for making traps on disallowed routes for small trails in an on-trails-only venue. That makes cheating rewarding which should not be, that also teaches you to follow trail more than there is need.
