Running race (Glentress 'half marathon') 1:55:07 [4] 19.8 km (5:49 / km) +726m 4:55 / km

Really tired and not enough sleep the last few days, hadn't reckied the course at all, and not stretched - so didn't feel very prepared for this. So decided to enjoy it!
Which I did, and went along so many nice trails that I would definitely run on again. So so cold, quite icy and a couple of inches of snow at the top - some nice views! Fell over and bashed knee but fine.
Thought I was in 3rd as had only seen two ladies ahead at the start - THEN passed one which I hadn't knew was ahead, so though I MUST be 3rd now...
But turns out I was 4th - but still happy with that! Especially as I didn't race super hard. Was funn.
3 PM

Stretching 52:00 [0]

As usual my left lower back/hip has seized up completely - but even all this stretching didn't seem to solve it, AND rolling on a cricket ball! But will do lots this week and try to sort it out.

Note
(rest day)

For some reason decided to go to the loch for a 'swim'... truely believed we would actually swim until I got there and realised there was snow all the way down to the loch! SO. COLD.
But we went in! With no wetsuits... i.e. we dunked in then got out. So don't think it counts as training.

Running 47:59 [3] 7.45 km (6:26 / km) +230m 5:35 / km

Run up Cademuir - really really enjoyed it, thought my legs would be tired but felt like I floated up!! Really slowy at the top, so turned my torch off and it looked amazinggggggg with all the lights of Peebles and the snow glowing and some starts etc.
Then ran back - really nice run.

Note

Meant to get up and swim this morning early, but couldn't sleep at all so decided to lie in an extra hour. Going to do a massive yoga session this evening instead of gym (but still some yoga strength stuff) to try and loosen up for the Glentress Half Marathon.
6 PM

Strength and Conditioning 35:00 [4]

Was going to just do yoga with some strength stuff, but then decided to do my own Insanity session instead - it was hard! But good, might start doing one every week - it's better than any gym class I've found here!

Stretching 11:00 [0]

Strength and Conditioning (Metafit) 20:00 [4]

Felt way easier, and really short this week! Good, but I miss Insanity... nothing is the same.

Running 30:00 [2]

Run with Simon - just did a really easy session which was about half drills and half jog round two of the bridges.
Absolutely awful weather and got soaked, and both forgot our torches, but it was FUN!
9 PM

Stretching 15:00 [0]

Have been SO bad at stretching recently and totally seized up :'(

Running warm up/down 15:20 [3] 2.52 km (6:05 / km) +83m 5:13 / km

Got up early to do some hill reps as have missed the Moorfoot session for about a month now and needed to do some! Really glad I did, nice being out at that time on day when it's quiet, and saw the big luminous moon.

Running hills 11:15 [5] 1.8 km (6:15 / km) +210m 3:57 / km

3 x reps up the Sware (far side, up until the gate on the left just past where the treeline ends). Focused on running technique and mental strength! Good.

Running 18:10 [3] 3.24 km (5:36 / km)

Recovery jog down x 2, then jog home. Fun! :)

Strength and Conditioning (Tri training) 40:00 [3]

Went to the tri run as can't go to tomorrow as meeting Dad in Edinburgh in evening. However it was circuits this week, so not really any running - but good! Not too hard but some good stuff.
8 PM

swimming (Tri training) 50:00 [3]

Ian was taking the session so did half swimming, half waterpolo. FUN, and felt really good swimming again, felt like I was flowing well! And ankles were kicking the top of the water yay :)
