10 AM

Running warm up/down 7:00 [3]

Jog about to warm up. Not long enough but ah well, managed to stretch out a bit.
11 AM

Running race (Jedburgh 10k) 44:29 [5] 10.0 km (4:27 / km) +73m 4:18 / km

Suprisingly, really enjoyed it! And knees were ABSOLUTELY fine - no pain at all which was amazing, didn't feel them - and feel fine now still as well! :)

However didn't feel very fast, felt like me legs just wouldn't move - I knew I had more energy and could run faster, but I just couldn't get my legs moving! I guess just not used to road racing. Which is fine, because not exactly going to get into it - such a difference in atmosphere, in competitors, supporters and race set up.
I was racing kind of near another lady at the end, and ended up overtaking her - so (as you would in a fell/trail race), waited at the end to say well done etc, which I did, TWICE, and she just didn't even achnowledge me ha!
And supporters only clap the people they know, a very quite finish despite loads of people there. And no prize giving!
All in all had a great day but 100% confirmed what I already knew - fell/trail running is 10000000000% better.
3 PM

swimming (Open Water) 20:00 [2] 1.0 km (20:00 / km)

Very chilly swim in Gladhouse with Ian. We think it was about 8-11 degrees - but for some reason I really didn't find it that bad - maybe the race had got my circulation going for the day?! Usually I would have died. But REALLY enjoyed it, absolutely beautiful afternoon, and nice autumn-y trees, and geese all gathering to set off to Africa. Glad I got out as I would have fallen asleep on the sofa otherwise, and felt so much better afterwards.

Running 32:20 [3] 5.19 km (6:14 / km) +140m 5:29 / km

Test run for my knee - on setting off knees felt totally fine, only a little niggle in my right achilles. After a few minutes could feel my knees, but left actually more niggl-y than my right this time! But didn't get properly 'painful' at all, and fine after. So the race is on on Sunday! :)

Note

Went to see Jackie again for a follow up appointment about my knee - needed help deciding whether to race on Sunday!
Both knees a bit ropey. But seemed to respond well and felt a lot better after. Said to do a test run tomorrow (off-road) and if there wasn;t any significant pain during or after, it should be fine, so that;s good! Apart from that just going to try and do loads of yoga and make sure I stay loosened up.

Got up to go to the gym as the website said it opens at 7 on Tuesdays and it was closed. Poo.
6 PM

Running 45:39 [3] 8.81 km (5:11 / km) +68m 4:59 / km
(injured)

Run along the cycle path. Wanted to go up around Glentress but didn't get very far as my knee was hurting so had to turn back :(
Went to the gym and then ran home.

Strength and Conditioning (Gym) 25:00 [4]

Arms and core stuff. Good.

Yoga 15:00 [1]

Yoga 45:00 [2]

Really good yoga session - did a headstand! Just going to practice the hard poses loads until I nail them.
8 PM

swimming (Tri training) 1:00:00 [3]

Good session - I think she (the coach) was fed up of me doing front crawl wrong so made me stop and got some really good coaching. My arms are like crabs apparently and I am kicking from my knees and not my hips - lots to think about but very useful! Have to practice 'windmill' arms to get into the habit of stretching my arms forward.
