COLD in the Lake today. Also my swimming hat fell out of my bag by the car and didn't realise so had to swim without a hat so was impossible to swim for any length of time in front crawl as just got brainfreeze straight away - and breast stroke is so slow! So just ended up going to the boathouse and back.
But beautiful evening.

So SO painful even trying to jog through the DOM's at the start - but got warmed to an actual running pace at the end, but not fast at all.

Running race (Parkrun!) 21:09 [5] 5.0 km (4:14 / km) +33m 4:06 / km

Had wanted originally to try and get close to 20 mins - however considering my legs had no chance at all, just couldn't get anywhere near 4min/km at any point! Tried so much harder than last time on this course too, and got 20:55 then...
However suppose my legs are pretty shattered - even more so now. However, did enjoy it!

Also - is Workington parkrun actually 5km? My garmin always says less... 4.91km

Jog around the fields to try and loosen off my legs - tried pathetically to do some drills but literally just couldn't because DOM's were so bad - SO SO bad! But managed to run/jog normally in the end, just round the track, was actually really nice and relaxing just running round and round and wasn't boring for once. Legs still awful now though but a little bit easier to walk.

Absolutely DEAD today. Rest rest rest. Still glad I did the race though, loads of fun. And bought myself the best ever running vest at Pete Blands with my winnings.

Great race! Wasn't sure how I was going to feel because of this cold but think it may have done me good, although feel knackered now - but then it was my first race in over 4 months so not suprising.
1st lady (which may have never happened before) - and actually got a prize as they were left over from Borrowdale?!! AMAZED. And exausted. Also need to work on my descending skills.

Was going to go for a run yesterday but felt rubbish in the evening so had another couple of days rest. Short sharp fell race tomorrow though to blast the cold away.
