Orienteering race (Day 1) 43:14 [5] 3.9 km (11:05 / km) +140m 9:24 / km

Dalrulzion

3rd!!! quite hilly forest with lots of green and contour detail - had a late start which was a advantage because there were loads of elephant tracks =D

clean run apart from no.9 where i lost about 3 mins making a stupid mistake becuase i convinced myself the map was wrong =S could've won if i hadnt done that!!!

pleased though =D

Orienteering race (tour champs classic) 43:47 [4] 3.7 km (11:50 / km) +145m 9:54 / km

Inshriach South
went to this area t lagganlia its really technical and have always got completly lost in it so decided this time i would go slow and get it right =)


made a few mistakes but some really good legs so am pleased as it's a really technical area - going slowly was definatly a good idea as if id tried to run faster i wouldve got completly lost!!! came 3rd which was good =) but the same person followed me again so still didnt enjoy as much as i would have done =(

just going slowly becuase wasnt feeling great and really tired - was good though but got lost because wasnt really focused - think i'd used up my brain this morning!

Orienteering (Moor of alvie + speybank) 1:30:00 [3]

walked a line course, then did a long and short exercise, then jog/walked a pairs exercise with rhona

was just going slow because of the race in the afternoon =) =)

good course but didnt really enjoy it because was really annoyed all the way round because someone was following me all the way =( did well though - won!!! yay! =D =D
didnt really have a great run though, made a few mistakes =)
pleased with the result though =)

did three exercises, cant really remember what they were but was really good area and good training!!!

Orienteering race (badaguish sprint race) 13:53 [5]

really bad because the it was a 1:1500 map which was really confusing and also i there were two bridges across the stream and i got really confused because i didnt see one of them so kept going up to the one at the top every time which lost loads of time and was confusing because i was at one bridge but kept thinking i was at the other one! good though

Orienteering (lossie forest) 1:00:00 [2]

training at lossie - half of it is THE MOST technical and complicated sand dunes EVER and the other half is flatish vagueish forest =)

just did the fine exercise which was in the technical bit, and got totally lost on nearly all of them! afterwards went out again with anne (edwards) and did some of it again to try and get atleast a few controls right! was a really good area for training but crazily complicated =)

Orienteering race (lossie forest) 39:19 [5] 5.0 km (7:52 / km)

peg race!!!

we all started together and it was a normal course except at some controls there were 3 pegs, and the first three people picked up a peg and had to do and extra (bonus) control before the next one, and you had to get as many pegs as possible

was really good and finished 3rd so was pleased - was good running with people all the way round because you have to push yourslef the whole time to go faster

Orienteering race (lagganlia sprint) 22:24 [5] 2.5 km (8:58 / km) +80m 7:43 / km

sprint race at lagganlia - good but one of the control boxes was missing, (they took that split out)

but then... i forgot to punch the finish so my time couldnt coint which was annoying because i would've been fourth out of the girls, and they used the times to put you into a or b finals for the sprint at badaguish

enjoyed it though =)

Running (heartrate monitor session) 7:00 [5]

we had to sprint up a track/path through the wood (roughly 3 mins), then a short rest then back to find our max heart rate (mine was 204)

Orienteering (h-r monitor intervals) 50:00 [3]

we worked out our work and recovery zones then did a course with alternate long and short legs, and used the monitor to run in our 'work' zone on the long legs and the 'recovery' zone in the short legs

was good but even in the work zone i wasnt working very hard and in the recovery i was just walking =S
