Just haven't been feeling right, and so much going on!

LOVED IT! Can't believe I've never done a fartlek before, SO much fun.
Ran every hill really hard until I had done about 2230 hard running. Lots of wiggling around over cool paths in Mount Eden. Fun fun fun. Haven't enjoyed running this much in a while.

Hard to run hard as sooooooooooo steep so a bit frustrating, I'm rubbish at downhills. And the more I ran down the slippier it got. But the last 3 much better so maybe it will help me get better!

Run with Sam and Dave... they're fast! We added some sprints in too, so overall a pretty speedy run, and got faster towards the end I think. Felt soooooooo tired and run down at work and almost bailed on the run but felt SO SO SO SO much better after it was amazing. Loved it.

Went out to the Waitakeres, wanted to find a nice trail path to do the session on... ran all the way tto the bottom of this dam to find the other trail and couldn't find it so had to run all the way back! Almost just went home as so grumpy but ended up going to a different trail on the other side of the road and just doing it anyway...

V glad I did- but super frustrating as this one was soooooooo muddy and twisty and rooty that it was impossible to actually run that hard, so didn't feel like I got the full benefit. But oh well, got it done yay.

3 x 'hill' reps... these are the apparently brutal hill reps the running group does... it was barely even a hill!?
Hill at the start then basically flat for most of it, then hill at the end... highly disappointing. And was dark by the time I was doing them, so only did 3. Glute/hip playing up again, same as in the long run randomly... need to stretch, not enough yoga

Run with Katie - super fun! Legs felt way better than I thought once got going, lungs died though as Air B&B had kittens so was massively allergic (I stroked them).
Glad I changed plan, wasn;t enjoying yesterdat in the end, and this was FUN.

Long weekend so decided last minute to try and run the Hillary trail... so started at 7am from Arataki, and ran to Piha as the first day.
But tired legs for yesterdays tempo, and something all seized up in my left hip/glute before even starting, so was sooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad by the last 15km, hobbling along. So so so so slow.

Got to Piha and decided running the 35km tomorrow was just out of the question, so organised a shorter run with Katie instead, and lift back to car. Shame, but pretty sure I wouldn't have enjoyed it, so all good!

Jog to Domain and drills. Had meant to do Parkrun but late night so decided to do own tempo a bit later. Was aiming for sub-20 5km but didn't quite get there, but definitely wasn't feeling 100%. Super tired and lungs all bunged up etc. Ah well! Couldn't have ran faster, pushed v hard.
