Strength and Conditioning (Gym) 30:00 [4]

Was going to go climbing but the weather was awfullll so didn't wanna cycle all the way there (gonna go Sunday instead).
So decided to go spinning, but it was full. So got Jack to come and gym! Did some back and biceps and leg press and core. Boring (think I've gone off the gym?) but nice to actually do something finally!

Cycling 3:30:00 [3] 34.9 mi (6:01 / mi) +800m 5:37 / mi

BEST WEATHER OF THE WHOLE YEAR! So much to do but glad I got out, cycling in vest and 3/4's the whole way and wasn't cold.
Cycled to the Cow & Calf with Jack for lunch/dinner, then was gonna get the train back to get on with work but missed it as they took 40mins to bring apple crumble.
So realised it was quicker to cycle back that wait for the next, so decided to go a different (new) quicker way. Surprise surprise got lost and ended up in Shipley, and had to cycle back along the canal path - really nice but not tarmac so had to go mega slow for most of it.
However, GOOD DAY! :)

Strength and Conditioning 7:00 [4]

Sit-up and pull-up challenge (because didn't do it last night):
211 sit-up total, 8 pull-ups

Running 14:27 [3] 2.69 km (5:22 / km) +37m 5:02 / km

Testing out the foot after the sports massage on Wednesday. Didn't feel it or hurt AT ALL until about 10 mins yayyy! But then hurt a little so stopped and started walking back, then had bits of jogging between walking to get back quicker but stopping as soon as it hurts.
Seems like the longer I leave it between runs the better it is - don't want to stop running completely as need to build it up but gonna leave it a week now and see how it is.

Stretching 20:00 [0]

Major bum DOMS despite saying it wasn't hard yesterday - clearly I am just weak and unfit ha. Sitting down is quite painful.

Thursday Apr 14, 2016 #

Circuits 45:00 [3]

Back in Leedssss! Went to 'Body Attack' for the first time. Good to get moving but a lot of not-really-exercise moves like shuffling on the spot and stuff so not sure I will go again, although good for today as didn't want to exhaust myself anyway so did the job I guess. Fun though, and some really hard parts like the lunges and squats etc

Wednesday Apr 13, 2016 #

Note
(rest day)

Just been absolutely exhausted all week for some reason, and big head cold and sneezing all the time. Just had absolutely no enthusiasm for exercise although had a bit of a walk on Monday. Juts want to sleeeeep all the time.

Strength and Conditioning 7:00 [4]

Sit-up and pull-up challenge week 2!
194 sit-ups and 8 pull-ups over 5 sets.

Sunday Apr 10, 2016 #

Note

Absolutely incredible day - absolutely perfect weather, beautiful all day!
Was out doing a fundraiser cake sale with Jack all day so lots of standing in the sun and chatting to really nice people, good day :)
9 PM

Strength and Conditioning 6:45 [4]

Pull-up and sit-up challenge day 3:
195 sit-ups in total and 7 pull-ups. Why are pull-ups so hardddd?! :(

Saturday Apr 9, 2016 #

Cycling 1:25:49 [3] 21.12 mi (4:04 / mi) +258m 3:55 / mi
slept:9.5

Cycled to Braithwaite to cheer Dad coming into the finish of the Coledale Horseshoe. SUCH a nice day! Really quick cycle there, barely any wind which was nice as whenever I have cycled that road before it has been in horrible weather with a huge headwind.
Got there and walked up the hill and sat in the sun in just a t-shirt?! Ridiculous. But then got a bit breezier so was cold again.
Lots of runners falling over coming past me, v slippy. The Salamon team were there which was cool to see all the people from trail mag - e.g. the Nepalise woman.
However wished I could have done the race, absolute bummer. Oh well.
Then cycled home - suddenly was a head wind coming the other way? Bit annoying and also the road on that side is very bad.
Overall fun day.

11 AM

Running 6:15 [3] 1.13 km (5:32 / km) +2m 5:29 / km

A bit of yoga stretching and ankle wiggling and walking to warm up and then did a bit of a jog. Started feeling foot pretty quickly (3 mins?) but not suprised as it seemed slightly irritated from the cycling yesterday - probably because did a lot at very high speed/low resistance so think it was pulling a little bit.
Pain in the bum.
8 PM

Strength and Conditioning 6:00 [4]

Sit-up and pull-up challenge day 2!
Ended up doing 164 sit-ups total and 7.5 pull ups.

Circuits warm up/down (Barry's!) 15:00 [2]
slept:6.0

Back to early morning training again! Horrific sleep, so bad that I was actually pleased to get up at half 5 so that I wouldn't have to try and sleep any more. But ah well, still felt ok.

Warmed up on the sitting back bike machine for 5 mins then did some stretching out in the studio.

Cycling 1:00:00 [3] 25.0 mi (2:24 / mi)

Estimating the times but we did a circuit using the spin bikes of 1mile, 2miles, 3, 4, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, with 50 x exercises in between, which were:
Dips, spotty dogs, press ups, sit ups, star jumps, v-bends, straddle jumps, squat thrusts.

Good sesh although v sweaty and hadn't planned to do two days of cycling in a row - knees feeling it, but will be fine. Nice to be back :)

Circuits 15:00 [3]

See above exercises!

Strength and Conditioning 8:00 [3]

Sit up and pull up challenge(s) day 1!
Something like 130 sit-ups in total I think, and a solid 6 pull ups (gotta start somewhere!)
Then did wobble boarding, 1 x 1 min each leg
4 PM

Cycling warm up/down 20:20 [4] 8.02 km (2:32 / km) +85m 2:24 / km

Really wanted to do some good exercise so cycled hard down the Isel Road, looping back to do one of the hills again as a 'rep'. Got the the gradual hill that goes up to just before the first turning on the right and tried it out as a rep cycling reasonably hard.

Cycling hills 11:24 [5] 4.07 km (2:48 / km) +95m 2:30 / km

5 x hill rep, each around 0.8-0.83km, 19m.
Splits around 2:18.

Really good as it started off gradual for the first 20s then got steeper but could still work in a high-ish gear without legs moving too slow. Did all the reps sitting down, not steep enough to stand.

Cycling hills 11:34 [1] 3.73 km (3:06 / km) +33m 2:58 / km

Rest - cycled along and then back over and down the hill

Cycling warm up/down 21:48 [3] 6.35 km (3:26 / km) +59m 3:17 / km

Cycled back - lovely head wind just as I got tired, nice. And that road is horrible to cycle on when tired as it is soooooo bumpy and badly surfaced. But good session, nice to finally do some real exercise!

Walking 1:30:00 [1]

Walk in the Cheviots - fun! Foot sore especially on the way back, hurt quite a bit on the uneven ground and downhill.

Monday Apr 4, 2016 #

Running 11:50 [3] 1.63 km (7:16 / km) +40m 6:28 / km

Had a bit of a run in the middle of our walk. Couldn't feel it at all until about 8mins in, then started feeling it a little, but only actually painful after 11 mins.

Walking 1:00:00 [1]

Walk along Hadrians Wall! Really nice and fun :)
Foot felt sore though walking after the run :( Ice later.

Saturday Apr 2, 2016 #

Jog around the fields again, foot way worse, deffo haven't recovered from Wednesday! Hurt straight away and built up way worse than before so had to cut it short :(
