Orienteering race (Tentsmuir) 1:07:00 [4] 7.9 km (8:29 / km) +70m 8:07 / km

LOVE this area so much, had a really nice clean run, quite a long way and didnt feel particularly fast, could've gone a lot faster i think if I'd pushed it but just wanted to enjoy it and not make any mistakes =) really good orienteering, was quite a few physical legs so think i lost a bit of time there, but really enjoyed it =D

Running 25:47 [2] 3.3 km (7:49 / km) +100m 6:47 / km

Jog up the hill

Orienteering (O/terrain running) 26:16 [3]

Did some controls off a setmurthy map with Dad - swapping the map at each one, kind off like a first controls/terrain running exercise - not the greatest area for orienteering though!

Running 20:53 [2] 3.5 km (5:58 / km)

jog back down the hill =)

Beat my pb for this run!! Finallyyyy got under 40mins =)

Was meant to just be a jog, and it was like half 8 so dark, and had to run through loads of cows..
But then realised I was running quite fast so pushed it on the way down to beat 40mins =D so ended up a bit of a beast... didnt feel like a was pushing rthat hard at all though =)

Running warm up/down 15:00 [3]

Drills and jog

Orienteering race (JHI's individual ) 47:11 [4] 4.8 km (9:50 / km) +70m 9:10 / km

Devilla Forest (world schools middle race area 2008)

Really enjoyed the course today, seemed to have been doing a lot of middle distance and short courses so really good to do a more physical/longer-ish race. Also actually enjoyed the brashings as havent been in any shitty areas in so long!

Anyway...

1,2# Good start, running really smoothly through the controls and running well
3# Just managed to be pulled off line by the vegetation and vague contours, really silly mistake, needed to concentrate on following my bearing instead of where i felt like running, ended up much to far right, relocated off the open and some sheep pen things, lost about 1min 40s
4# Could see it from 3!
5# Good, following a good plan
6# Went round the path, then wasnt sure where I came off it, and ended up far to high, and got confused by a sudden vegitation change that wasnt mapped, then saw the ruin and realised i was wayyy to high, really stupid mistake because just didnt have a clear enough plan - really annoying because lost loads of time - about 3mins
7# Really nice long leg through some toughish terrain, just went straight ticking off features - running + orienteering really well
8,9# just flowing through really well and spiking the controls
10# big long leg just going on the little paths not very technical
11# Map seemed very strange hear, the obvious ride wasnt very obvious, then seemed to have only just got onto it when I was going past the hill so thought it was the form line before because it was so soon, but then realised and had to backtrack - lost about 30s
12,13,finish# good

Overall lost about 5mins10s to mistakes, but the rest of the race was really good and i really enjoyed it
Juts a bit annoying to be in the same situation AGAIN of making 1 or 2 stupid mistakes and loosing loads of time, and having an amazing race otherwise - compared splits with lucy b (who won - 43mins) and I was beating her/similar times on all the good controls it was just loosing all the time on one or two controls, so i know if i can sort that out i can be winning!
England won overall, and the individual so that was really good - also had a good result - 3rd so was was on the 'podium' =D

Really good weekend =)

Running warm up/down 15:00 [3]

Orienteering race (JHI's relay) 28:06 [4] 3.1 km (9:04 / km) +120m 7:36 / km

Kinnoull Hill - 1st leg

Quite dissapointed with my race because it was just the same as what always seems to happen, I do really well and am winning/doing really well untill i make one stupid mistake to mess it up.. Team England won though so good =D

1# good, focused well on my own route
2# Messed it up, went way to far along the path and had to go all the way back again, just not thinking and going to fast i think
3, 4, 5# Good, just catching up again, 3 was a longish leg going up the hill so was with zoe leading by that point
6# MUCH further left than i thought it would be, came out at no7 which wastnt far away but lost time and got caught up again
7# easy, already been to it!
8# fine, good plan, quite easy control to go into
9# Was with zoe at the front again, back up the hill, but when we got to the area got completly dissorientated, lucy b and florence caught us up so it was the england 4, but we where much to far left so went right but nothing seemed to match properly with the track below, so i started going left again, then heard lucy shout to tell me it was over there, by which time the pack had gone through so i was on my own at the back =(

Rest of the course was fine, just trying to catch it up but they where to far in front which was really annoying

Orienteering race (Park World Tour qualifier) 19:29 [4] 2.2 km (8:51 / km) +20m 8:28 / km

Scone Palace

Really good course, pretty technical because lots of short fast legs, brain just wasnt thinking fast enough though and kept making little mistakes and lost quite a bit of time - enjoyed it though =)

Running warm up/down 10:00 [3]

Orienteering race (Peter Palmers) 43:08 [5] 6.6 km (6:32 / km)

My Birthday!!! Pretty tired, got no sleep apart from about 40mins - but felt suprisingly ok when i ran =)

Had quite a good race, just felt long and fast because it was really easy on a sprint map and just round and round because it was such a small area =) also was running on my own so just a case of mental strenght to go faster!
