Rogaining race (Flinders Ranges Aust Cham) 24:55:00 [4] 91.0 km (16:26 / km) +2607m 14:22 / km
shoes: Inov-8 Roclite 295 p2
Really enjoyable rogaine with new partner Jon S. We kept a happy pace, had fun and then pushed hard for the last 2.5 hrs to complete our planned loop, excepting 3 controls dropped (60,60,30 all hard work to get to). The only possibility in the last 8hrs would have been an additional 30 points. Job done however with Men's Vets winners, 2nd Men's, 5th overall. 2200 points.
Big congrats to Wil and Ben who blitzed the field by a good margin to win overall.
Really rocky underfoot and lots of climbing. The creeks were the key as these were generally easy to walk along.
The weekend started off a little off when I arrived at the airport to find my flight had been cancelled and I'm on the red eye via Sydney 8 hours later. We missed the Syd connection, but managed to get to Adelaide in time for the 1030 bus. The bus was good and roomy, was able to sleep there.
Looking forward to seeing the download from my gps logger.
