From parking spot to Mt Randall, then to Bibb track via the local hut and south to meet Karen, Marty and Blake at Mt Vincent and then back again with them. Just made it afterwards to the Jarrahdale store before 4pm closing. Some big boulders near Mt Randall. Tested new Inov 295's and new light O gaiters to use in the rogaine - seems to be ok.

Hills with Wil. This time from Walyunga and going on the N and E sides. Spent a lot of time on tracks and in scratchy bush trying to find good inclines to walk up. Only two proper reps, but 583m climb vs usual 1000 which is still a decent effort. Nice day and good to get a mental rest from the normal reps. Feeling fresh after.

Mountain Biking race (Pile Rd MTBO) 2:47:58 [4] 36.1 km (12.9 kph) +566m
shoes: SC Blur XC

Went ok, bit slow at the start as Wally caught my at 1. We both took off to 2 wrongly in different ways and then I caught him on the way to 2 and followed or tried to stay in touch for a while, lost him but then almost caught him on the next 2 or 3 controls. Had the front wheel slide out once which I think cracked my map board which then came off about 10 mins later. Put the compass on my hand and started using a lot of map memory and leaving it folded in my back pocket. This may have sped me up b/c I didn't stop too many times to look at the map - and probably a good exercise as I started working more off memory than I would normally. Never made the dreaded wrong or missed turn. The map unfortunately started disintegrating and luckily the course kept moving to parts of the map which were still together. Only just made it back to the last control on the map.

Overall, an excellent course - the best I can remember doing. Well done Ricky. Many route options throughout including climb and trail quality.
