Orienteering race (Creag Choinnich) 30:31 [5] 5.1 km (5:59 / km) +239m 4:51 / km

Scottish Relays good old faithful 2nd leg.

Cherry, solid run on first, 1 mistake but still in contention with Doug. 1.5min down.

I set off like a mad man, chasing Nixon. Good solid start but mind started wondering after 6. Slowed the pace down a wee bit but still had two wee misses at 8, 9 and 12. No more than 50s. Head down on the long leg as still no sight of nixon. Clean through the last couple and change over in first!? nixon missed big at 9 which is where I must have passed him. Rocky had an easy job to do. Executed with perfection.

3 out of 3 this year. Job DONE!

Path warm up/down 15:00 [2] 2.0 km (7:30 / km)

easy warm up just making my start on time. Too tired afterwards for a warm down.

Orienteering race (Glen Feardar) 1:45:36 [5] 17.5 km (6:02 / km)

Scottish Champs/WOC selections

Feeling pretty heavy in the lunges at the start. Been suffering with hey fever the last week. Overshooting 2 woke me up and got my head in gear. Speed remained fairly constant the whole way round. Catching Camal on the top of the fell gave me a wee boost and I was able to keep fighting. Picked the best route choice and only misses a couple of controls by no more then 40s.

Finished in 6th and only a minute down on Nixon in 3rd. Scotia and Hector were too far in front to bother. JT possibly had the run of the day taking 5th which so easy could have been 3rd without his miss on the 3rd last. Good to see the Tullies battling it out again.

Road tempo (KB handicap) 23:15 [4] 6.43 km (3:37 / km) +62m 3:27 / km

KB handicap. Hey fever still in the lounges so hitting the anaerobic threshold at a far slower pace and unable to run as fast as usual. Bit frustrating as legs were feeling good. 23.15, one of my slowest times for the handicap.
